Good morning!
Joe, get back out there while you're young.
I think at nearly 66 I'm done with the dating thing. Last man, I talked to said "I can't talk right now, my wife is home." Huh? There's a couple of younger men after me for just sex because their older husbands can't keep up with their sex drives...maybe that's the route to go. It would be a service to them. LOL. But I'd still be alone.
I didn't post yesterday because I was just tired. I slept in this morning but wish I hadn't as I have to go to bed early for work tomorrow and miss an hour of sleep.
Nothing much going on today.
Sunny, 70 degrees, and windy off and on.
Her's a complaint, but it is a relatively new-ish one! Why have the drugstores stopped stocking Capsaicin topical cream and the roll-on Capsaicin? All I can find is Lidocaine. It's good sometimes, but there are certain aches and pains on which only Capsaicin makes a big difference. I will be quizzing the pharmacists about this. I'll TRY to find a place on line where the complaint will go, but otherwise it is the pharmacists who will hear about it and THEY can contact their distributors. Grumble-grumble.
Got up at 8:30 AM and made a cup of coffee, took my meds, and tried to get Momo to come downstairs to eat her breakfast, but she declined and whined. So, we BOTH went back to sleep for a while longer. Don't know if she's just not hungry or what. She's not acting weird or anything, so maybe when I am out of the den getting Nannie dressed, Momo will sneak over to her dish and eat breakfast then. That's one of her 'things' that she does not want anyone to observe her doing.
Feels like Sunday, but if it was then I could look forward to tomorrow's Daycare time. Two days to tolerate all-day-long with Nannie in the recliner. OY! I am not comfortable with just leaving her locked in the car while I run into stores anymore. I don't know that I mentioned it, but when I had her out with me and left her in Walmart's parking lot, she said (I don't know if this is true or not....), "I was asking people if they knew who or where you are and if you were coming back." YIKES! I told her it is MY car and she is MY mother-in-law, so it wasn't an option to just leave them there and disappear! Don't need her figuring out how to get the seat-belt off and unlock the door of the car to go looking. YIKES, again! And an 'OY!' or two thrown in for good measure.
No big tasks today; maybe a laundry for one or the other of us. Both my knees are achey and feel slightly swollen at the medial aspect. I put what little capsaicin topical cream I still have, on both knees, and don't plan to stand on my feet a lot; though of course I will be going up and down stairs because that is what I do! I don't have a foot-rest to fling my legs up on, and they were elevated in bed, so I don't know if more elevating is the answer or not.
I tried on the turtleneck jerseys my sister sent me but most of them are medium size. I'm not comfortable wearing close-fitting tops, though they aren't really skin-tight. I look in the mirror and think of Jayne Mansfield's bosoms, and then change into something labeled 'large'. If it was chilly I could wear a vest or sweater over the medium-size turtlenecks and feel fine. I am just kind of modest that way, I remember when I went on a canoe-paddling duck-count on the river in Nashville with a wildlife officer; I wore clothes over my bathing-suit because I knew it was going to get hot and we would stop for a swim at some point. Then, when we did, and I took off my clothes to go in swimming. The first thing that guy said to me was,"Whoa! Where have you been hiding THOSE?!!" (Talk about the wrong thing to say to someone so self-conscious! Oh well.)
Okay it is time to do the Nannie-thing, then tolerate the next 6-7 hours before she goes back to bed.
Rainy day. Spent most of it at a rose growing clinic. Also did a little plant shopping undercover at the garden center. We found a brew pub for lunch, and had a bowl of baked potato soup.
My right heel is getting sorer for no apparent reason. It's not red, it doesn't hurt at rest, but walking is painful. At least the dogs don't mind postponing our walk because they hate the rain.
We supposedly have HBO Max with our cable package, but I can't find the show I want to watch, called The Pitt. The online automated customer service has me going around in circles. Grr.
Hello!
No Stars, I hope your aches go away. Weird, that you can't find Capsaicin neaby. I hope that's only a temporary issue, and that the stores will soon carry it again.
Gosh, I don't think I could "do" the dating stuff anymore... Kudos for those who keep on.
nursej22, what's with your heel pain? And how frustrating, to try to figure out the cable package -- the 'should have' VS reality. I hope you are able to watch the show you want. I miss live TV, rather than streamed ones that require a subscription and then are glitchy when I try to use them (I'm talking to YOU, Paramount+ !!). At least with Live TV, we got our TV Guide and chose which shows to tune into and watch. "Tune in next week for the further adventures of ----------------..."
I slept well last night. We met oldest ds for lunch, had fish that was very good. Then he had a Thai Iced Tea from a shop, and we sat outside and chatted. It was nice. Then we took him home, and changed clothes to report at 4 for a farewell program. We, along with the other musicians, played for an hour for a hymn sing-along. They had a supper and social afterwards. It was good to see everyone. We are home a little early, to feed the cats and then to feed ourselves our usual soup. Tomorrow we have a Zoom call with the boys, for youngest's birthday (he will be 34).
Have a good evening!

Stars it will be good to start that new schedule and have more time
Dianah glad the rain was clearing up there
Work was a little busy in the morning and a little crazy in the afternoon, but not too bad. During lunch decided to do some cleaning instead of waiting until the evening. After work exercised and had my hot cocoa as usual. Talked with a guy I met on the dating site after texting a while, was OK but not inspiring. But we'll talk again and hopefully meet in person and we'll see.
Today will be a fairly ordinary Saturday, for the first time in a while. Will try and get out and bird watch, assuming it's not too cold. Will have lunch with Dad and will bake some muffins. Will skip Svengoolie again and see if there are any other movies I'd prefer to see
Going to start off in the 30s today but is supposed to get up to 50, part of a warming trend that will get things up to 70 by later next week
