Joe, enjoy your day.
My Ellie deteriorated in a matter of hours and I had to euthanize without much prep. Billy died unexpectedly while I was asleep. Caesar definitely let me know he was leaving. He quit eating and slept a lot and after four days left peacefully with me in our bed. He actually woke me up minutes before he passed. I was keeping vigil to make sure he didn't go into distress to the point I would have to euthanize, but sometime in the wee hours I fell asleep and he made a quiet bark and I woke up and then he went. Now with two elderly dogs I know I'll be facing all this again. Wouldn't have it any other way.
Off for four days. Going to yoga and grocery store, but not sure what else I'll be up to.
Have a great day!
I'm up and dressed, sitting with Momo on the sofa, trying to wake up with my first cup of coffee. Momo is keeping an eye on Mr Perfect Lawn who lives next door. She thinks there is no good reason for him to mow his lawn every third day, and is grumbling about it. I agree; he is wasting gas, and he is "out in the noonday sun" so he is either a mad dog or an Englishman.
I think I probably have a load of laundry for Nannie and a load of laundry for me. I may have intended to do my wash yesterday, but I didn't. Nothing else planned that I can think of right now. I would enjoy it if Nannie were to doze off and nap this afternoon, but that remains to be seen, as I haven't gotten her up yet!
94+ degrees with a 7% chance of rain, and a 'feels like' of 104 degrees. It is cloudy off and on and the wind is fickle....completely stopped at one point, and then the next minute, bouncing and tossing the leaves and branches vigorously.
At the end of the evening last night I really felt like crying, but couldn't; I wish I could, I'm sure it would relieve my funk if I could do so. Crying is one way the body expels tension. I just cuddled with Momo and prayed to just keep remembering how blessed I am to have a roof over my head, with no rent or mortgage, and no need to work a job, even though it IS a REAL job here with the Nannie-person and taking care of her house-hold chores as best I can.... BLECH, BLEARGH! ARGH!
This coming week, I have an appt for a BP follow-up on Monday afternoon, and on Tuesday afternoon, my eye exam. Wednesday is the day Nannie's CG is coming to sit with her 1PM to 6PM. Thursday is, of course, the 4th of July. And the days continue to march on and on...
I think of Alice Cooper's song, "The Ballad of Dwight Frye" where he screams, "I gotta get out of here, Gotta get out of here, out. of. here, OUT. OF. HERE!" (That was from his first album out in the early 70's, I think, and seldom, if ever, played on any top-40 list.)
Time for a second cup of coffee to wake up a little further.
Hope everyone has a good Saturday and Sunday!
Hello all!
We watched Zoom Sabbath School, then watched two episodes of The Chosen, Season 4 as we had lunch. Just finished with a Zoom call with both the ds's, it was good to re-connect. Dh is about to give the Manx cat, Toby, his evening small portion of canned "cat fud," into which he places the cat's thyroid medication. We have nothing else planned for this evening. Dh will typically spend it looking into the mandolin and bass on-line forums, and perhaps the news. I will likely read and do some exercises.
Have a good evening!
Well, it has been a quiet day, thank goodness. Got both loads of laundry done. SiL came by with 2 lrg pkgs of pads, 2 of pull-ups, and a large PKG of underpads. She is going to take Nannie on Tuesday afternoon. The talkative CG will be here Wednesday from 1-6 PM.
And, RATZ, my eye appt isn't until the 27th!
It is oppressively hot and humid outside; I only went to the mailbox after sunset; it was probably even more disgusting earlier in the day. The weather-guy said it will be worse tomorrow with a 'feels like' temp of 105 degrees. Being that it is Sunday tomorrow, there won't be any reason to go outside....no mail delivery! 🙃
🤔 Maybe I will do NOTHING tomorrow! 😋

Ado sorry to hear about Dory. It was good that you knew when it was time to let go, I think some pet owners are reluctant to acknowledge that
Stars glad you got the car title straightened out
NJ22 glad the golf lessons are going good
Hi Dianah, Tweety, Rose Queen
Work was better yesterday, little to do for the person that was off and not too busy for me. Thought I would have the last hour free...then got yet another new case. Had time to get the preliminary stuff done, and next week won't be bad as I had feared. But still, need to talk to the supervisor about this flood of incoming work
Rest of the day was pretty quiet, worked on my shopping list and exercised. My endurance for exercise seems less, probably out of shape after being sick
Thankfully the rain ended early so I will get out bird watching. Then will take the train downtown for the architecture tour that will be the long delayed 2nd date. Should be interesting.
Svengoolie has The Undead, which I've seen before and I'll skip
Going to be warmer today, up to 90
