Ado hope your DH feels better soon

NJ22 good that you checked that peanut butter

Tweety it's been busy here too

Hi Stars

We had someone off sick yesterday, and a bunch of faxes came in for me to review, so it was a start early, skip lunch, but leave on time  kind of day.  Though actually I did take about 10 min for lunch.   One of the busiest days I've had but I didn't get too stressed about it, which was good

Rest of the day was quiet, ran an errand and exercised.

Today will do my usual bird watching and lunch with dad.  Might try out a new quick bread recipe.  Svengoolie has The Monolith Monsters, which is a bit slow but not bad

Will get into the low 70s today, should stay dry

Good morning!

Joe, enjoy the day.  Glad you didn't let the stress get to you.

Cloudy and drizzly this morning.  The heavy rains will be south of us.

Will go to yoga today.  If it's not drizzling too bad will head out for a walk.

Hello all!

Joe, enjoy your day.

Tweety, enjoy your days OFF!!

Yesterday we drove out to Anaheim around 2, arrived at 3.  Had soup and guacamole dip at our usual Mexican restaurant, then drove up Harbor Blvd to the designated motel, just across the street from the official entrance to Disneyland.  Of course, Harbor Blvd is FULL of Motels and Hotels and Restaurants and little shops selling Disney paraphernalia!  We got to the parking lot a full hour before we were scheduled to meet, and the time finally went by and we met with the luthier and had a nice chat and picked up the guitar!!

By the time we got home, though, I was so tired!  We ate a little, watched a bit of The Chosen, and then I tried out the guitar.  He did a wonderful job on it, and it DOES sound better.  Louder, as since he shimmed the cracks on its top (and cleated them from behind, to brace the wood), the sound now can resonate through the whole of the top (as intended), instead of getting interrupted by the cracks.  Anyway, it's good to have it back home and to know the work it needed has been done.

Dh and I slept well last night -- I guess the excitement and the outing both tired us out!  We have no plans for today,  just Zoom Sabbath School and I will probably play the guitar a little more.

Hope you all have a good day!

dianah, how wonderful to have your guitar back!

Hello, all!

Sitting outside on a beautiful afternoon while Hubs tries to figure out how to get to the alternator in "my" car. Keeping all the old cars in running condition is kind of a perpetual job.

Today would have been my father-in-law's 99th birthday.

Didn't sleep well last night due to heartburn. There's so much to do and I just don't want to do it.

Dh woke up feeling ache-y all over and took his temp, has a low-grade fever.  Some coughing last night.  Then tested: positive for Covid.  I tested negative.  We alerted the people we were at the jam with, on Wednesday.  Turns out one of the other ppl who was at the jam, tested positive today too.

So, dh has claimed the couch and is keeping his distance.  We are both vaccinated, so I anticipate it will be a light case (same for me, in case I test positive).  I ordered more home tests today, we have two left.

Oldest ds just called and reported he has a new job at a bar and grill near his home.  He is excited, and it sounds like a good fit for him and his skillset.

Ado, sorry you didn't sleep well, heartburn is a bummer!  Hope you can rest or even nap today.

Zoom Sabbath School went well.

Will check back with you later!

Yowie-Owie, Once again I am exhausted!

Yesterday I was worn out because hubby was in a 'mood', teasing Nannie a LOT.  He was also being quite LOUDLY obnoxious about the news, politics, and politicians. It's not like we are not exceptionally familiar with his often expressed points of view. It's tedious to hear it repeated, being shouted at the TV, and it accomplishes NOTHING, except aggravating me! And I had to tell him to quit poking at Nannie because she was starting to get angry, and we don't need an angry Nannie. Most times when he does her that way, she laughs and giggles; but she didn't last night. She was quite annoyed with him, and I sure don't blame her. He doesn't tease me that way 'cause he found out LONG AGO it is most decidedly NOT a good idea. I do not respond well because to me it is not 'fun'.

Anyway,  after he got Nannie to go to bed, he apologized to me for his extreme "Azzholishness". Hmmph, as well he might!

I turned out the light at 12:30 AM, and actually fell asleep right away. I was awake from 3-4 AM so I read more. I woke up at 10 AM and FINALLY started in on my room. Got all my clean clothes put up. Shredded about 4-5 weeks worth of stuff. Tossed magazines and catalogs. When I have to do the serious cleaning (OMG, the layers of DUST!) and straightening up, it is easier to re-arrange some of the furniture (mostly shelving). Which is exactly what I did. I still have more to finish up tomorrow, including vacuuming, but the worst of it is done (I think).

Glad to hear that weather is going on mostly South of you, Tweety. Looks bad on the TV, what with water up to the windshield wipers in some places, and the reports of six inches of rain falling in one hour, causing parked vehicles to bob and float after two hours of downpour.

Ado, Pepcid and Gas-X are my go-to meds for stomach woes! My mom said I was born with colic and I can tell you, it has pretty much stuck with me for 72 years. It occurs mostly when my 'nerves' are pressed down, mentally. So, while my brain is good at ignoring things, when it's had toooo much, it's my stomach that REALLY gets my attention. SSRI's help ease the nerves and treat the chronic depression, but my stomach says 'Ppfftt' to them as far as quieting the burning gut. (But I'm not such a delicate flower as I was when I was younger.)

dianah, never would I think to say this except in these days of Covid, but please STAY NEGATIVE! ? Hope your banjo-man gets well soon.

The ball-game was not on last night...well, it was, but on one of those "plus"  channels we don't get. There is a late game tonight on our usual channel, and I hope Nannie doesn't stay up late because the pre-game show is at 9:10 PM, but the first pitch won't be until 9:40 PM. It's on so late here because they are out in...?Colorado. I doubt I'll stay up to watch the whole thing. She'll have to go to bed when I decide to go upstairs, because she can't operate the remote control. Unless the Braves are having a phenomenal night, I'll probably head up to read, around 10:30 PM.

Hiya to all y'all ~ (you know, you'n's who've not posted yet) ~

Stars, wonder if your husband is irritable from not drinking as much?

Dianah, sorry to hear about your husband.  Hope it stays mild and that you stay negative.

I have all six of the covid test the Biden administration allowed, so I'm ready to test.  Lots of covid and flu around here.

I took a nice walk outside for an hour and went to hot yoga.  I had wanted to out when in the morning but it was drizzly and wet.  I took a nap instead.

I got my meds from the work pharmacy as instructed and they were actually a bit more.  Not much to make a fuss about but still.......

Yeah, Tweety, I'd say the tapering of vodka (or tequila) had quite a bit to do with his 'mood'. I didn't take any of it personally, but that's sometimes how he gets about the world in general, which is loud and a bit more red-necky than I care for. Fortunately he's not that way all the time. And I suppose there are things that come from my Yankee raising, that are not his favorite parts of my personality. I used to say that for an inter-cultural couple, we don't do too badly. (Going on 33 years of marriage this coming December.)
