Tweety it was good you were able to get that paid off

Ado I hope you have a nice trip

NJ22 I notice my allergies have been acting up too

Dianah sounds like it will be a nice drive

Stars it will be good to have someone to talk too, even if they can't solve the problem

Was fairly busy at work yesterday, but only had to stay about 10 or 15 minutes late. Got a new case at the end of the day, but decided it can wait until Monday

After work made a quick run to the store, had a white Russian, and went to yoga.  Notice there are fewer people now that it's been moved to Friday nights

Today going to the far northern suburbs to work with the environmental group.  Hope it doesn't get too hot, as I'll need to wear jeans and boots.

Will meet with dad for lunch as usual, though later to give me time to change first.

Svengoolie has Man Made Monster, which is decent.  Kinda like those old horror movies from the 40s

Will get into the upper 80s today

Good morning!

Car was serviced without incident.  For some reason they didn't charge me.  I didn't question but I was part of a plan that had free oil changes but I thought that had expired.  Fine with me.

I will do a couple of online lessons and go to yoga later.  Otherwise pretty mundane day planned.  Fine with me.

I'm up early (for me), getting ready to drive an hour to a memorial service.  Actually, will drive to friend's house, and we will go together.  The man and his wife were two of many friendly "grinners" we had met through the Summergrass festival.  My heart goes out to her.

Tweety, it does feel good to be out of debt!  But ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!  The OVERTIME!!

Good on you, Joe, and hope today's work with the environmental group goes smoothly.

Have a good day!

Well, I'm sorry, but I HAVE TO do this:

"It was the third of June, another sleepy, dusty Delta day..."

That ear-worm was how I remembered a former co-worker's birthday, and I've NEVER, EVER been able to forget that, even these 25-plus years later! Gads!

It is already 90 degrees and we were 'only' supposed to get up to 89 degrees. I slept late because yesterday was such a crappy day, and the thought of getting up today....uh-uh, didn't wanna do it. I am simultaneously overwhelmed and bored-to-tears at the thought of all that still needs to be taken care of. I have no energy, no motivation, and furthermore I do NOT want to push myself to do much of anything! So there!

Last night's ball game started at 9:40 PM, and we watched until 10:30....The Braves lost to the Diamondbacks by 3-2. Tonight's game STARTS at 10:10 PM, so we sure won't be watching that! I try to get Nannie to bed around 10:30 PM when there is a ballgame on. Used to be I could get her in bed earlier, but the other night when hubby asked her, "Is it time to go to bed, Nannie?" She said, "No." and when he asked, "How come?" she said,
"I'M not going to bed until y'all do." It's like being held hostage! Crap!

Ado, you know how it is, trying to get the mother-in-law-person to be nice and to be cooperative! YAH! Right!

Tweety, Seriously, a 7 AM oil change??? What WERE you thinking?!

dianah, hope your hour-long-drive was uneventful./ A rice-casserole sounds pretty good. Wonder if I can get hubby to agree to that, and do it without his input of ingredients. Sometimes it's easier to go get a hotdog!

j22, I hope Vermont is being cooperative with weather for your visit; it is such a pretty state. I drove up there on time with a friend who grew up in the flat state of Delaware, and he kept saying how scary the roads were, he felt like, with all the twisty-turny-up-and-down driving that the car would just slide off into a creek or the woods. He was just not used to changes in elevation in a mountainous terrain.

So, there is a squirrel outside, peering in the glass door. I can take a hint, so I guess I DO have to go out in the heat to fill the feeders!

Laydah, you'n's!

Because I found yesterday so depressing and I was mad about hubby's being  withdrawn and continuously po'd bout docs and meds, etc....(like, I don't know all of the things he was c/o ? And there was nothing I could do about any of it, anyway...) I was determined NOT to think about all of that and not be able to fall asleep. So I began memory-walking through various points in my life, different places I've lived, pets I once had, people I knew. It worked really really well. I didn't fall asleep any faster, but I did manage to keep my brain's feet out of the quicksand!

Here I sit in a plane on the tarmac at DFW because they keep delaying departures due to weather north of here. It is sunny and hot here and getting stuffy in this metal tube. They just shut down the engines to save fuel while we wait. We were supposed to have taken off nearly 2 hours ago. But as long as we get there safely I'm OK with all this.

Ugh, Ado, hope the A/C AND your ride get going soon -- and safely!

No Stars, is your memory-walking exercise akin to mindfulness?  So glad it helped for last night.  And tomorrow is a new day.  Usually with the same ol' issues, though...  But a new day nonetheless.

Just got home from the memorial service.  Of the 150 or so ppl who attended, we knew 6!  It was an interesting, enlightening service.  My friend and I agreed, though, that such services need to be organized while ppl are still alive and can contribute, so we can better appreciate them while they're with us.  And ask questions, etc.  Hmmmmm, wonder how we would go about changing such a tradition/ritual?

The other night I rummaged through an old purse and found a phone charger.  I charged it, then brought it in to dh.  "I found my old portable phone charger."

Dh: "That's not a phone charger."

Me: It's not?  So what is it?

Dh: "It's a power cell.  You can charge it and carry it with you and then hook your phone up to it, if the phone battery is low."

I looked at dh.  "So, it's a phone charger, like I said."  LOL!!  We both had to laugh!

Ahhh, it's good to be home and changed into comfy house-clothes.

Have a good evening!

Hubby went to bed tonight at 7:30 PM, and was up and down a few times....asked me if I have any Xanax! I was happy to be able to honestly reply that I did not have any ? because I can't get a refill until Tuesday. I guess he took his last one last night, as I was holding-my-breath scared when he came out of his room three times to stagger into the bathroom and back. Thank goodness he has learned to hang onto the woodwork and walls and doorknobs as he makes his way.

Nannie fell asleep after supper, snoozing away like nobodies business. I woke her up and told her she'd been sleeping for three hours, and wouldn't she be more comfortable in bed? Thankfully she agreed and in short order she was covered up and ready to snooze some more.

I booped around on the remote control to see what's on TV, since I don't have to please anybody else. Found a 1959 movie with Tony Curtis and I don't know who all else. It takes place in the time of Knights, etc. All the men are dressed in very well-fitted light-tan tights and short fitted jackets. Hate to sound lascivious, but, I am not really interested in the plot; I am enjoying the eye-candy. ? Tony Curtis was at his best back in 1959, handsome, and very fit and athletic, jumping onto horses and fighting with swords. I am not drooling, mind you, but I am enjoying watching this movie!

Over and out!

Finally made it to my niece's house.

Reports from back home are that all of them are sick and the plumbing got blocked again (far from the house, again) so Roto-Rooter came again and Hubs is fit to be tied. (An old southern expression? My mom used to say it)
