Hey there, Joe! My gosh it is 7:30 PM, EST, and it's just you and me! Guess the folks more Westerly are raising cane somewhere in these HOT United Stated.
Nothing much went on today. It was the usual ^ 90's with oppressive air. About an hour or so ago we had exactly ONE huge roll of thunder, and then......nuthin' else happened! Mother Nature must think it is April Fool's Day. I mean, ya hear a roll of thunder like that leaves you thinking..."Yeah? And......now what? when? I mean, HUH?" (Who's Got the Rain?)
We are watching the ballgame. Last night's game was a dull pitcher's game, where no one got any runs at all. UNTIL the 7th inning, the Braves got 7 runs in, and the next inning got an eighth run in. The poor Angels finally got one run in, but it didn't exactly help them as it was in the 9th inning. We'll see how it goes tonight. It has already started with good offensive and defensive action in the outfield, which was sorely lacking last night until the 7th. It's good to have good pitchers, I know, but if all they can do is strike players out, what kind of 'game' is that? BORING!
I reckon I'll have to re-assume some wifely chores tomorrow. ( ? yippee.)
Hope y'all are well!
G'day!
Joe, enjoy your day off.
Stars, I won't ask about what "wifely chores" you're going to do. But I did go there in my mind. Sorry.
Dianah, hope the cat improved.
J22, hope the dogs doesn't give you any more scares.
Work was okay. Had a 4:1 ratio but stayed busy with one thing after another. Discharged two and got one in. One of my patients was so entitled and annoying. I got an IV on one try on a patient two people had missed. I was her new best friend all day.
Tweety, congrats on getting the IV on one try! I used to tell pts, "I like to be like the Bic pen -- first time, every time." But it didn't always happen that way... Enjoy your evening!
No Stars, enjoy the game!
Joe, how was birdwatching? Did you make it out after the storm?
Quiet day today. We attended Zoom Sabbath School, then re-watched another episode of The Chosen. And then watched an interview: the Director of The Chosen, Dallas Jenkins, chatted with the actor who portrays Jesus, Jonathan Roumie. Very interesting, having watched and re-watched as many episodes as we have, to listen to them discuss some of the inner workings (directorial and mind-set) involved in the creative and production process. We see new details that we missed, each time we watch an episode. It's a powerful series, and we are anxious to see Season 3 when it is released. They plan on doing 7 or 8 seasons. It's quite an ambitious undertaking!
Not much planned for tonight or tomorrow. A couple days ago I made a cajun pasta dish (with chicken substitute), that turned out REALLY salty. I did a Google search how to un-salt the flavor, and ended up pouring some apple cider vinegar over it, then mixed in two containers of plain greek yogurt. Those two things REALLY helped make it more palatable. I am re-adjusting the recipe in my mind, to compensate next time I make it.
Neighbor kindly brought over some tomatoes from her garden. They look like an heirloom tomato type. We are anxious to try them!
Have a good evening!
HAhahahaha! Hear the echoing laugh? No, sadly, wifely chores are the multitude of domestic chores that accrue by the hour/day/week/and Oh Lordy, MONTH, lurking, waiting for me like time-sponges.
Do you remember a thread I started some years ago, where a person was to describe their life in just six words? The title of the book I got that idea from was titled, "Not What I Had In Mind."? Well this current aspect of my life is described by those words. My 'Path of Righteousness'. And here's a funny thing that just happened...kinda like a Freudian Slip of the fingers on the board, I typed "Rath of Righteousness". Hmmmmm!
dianah, We won 9-2! Another game early tomorrow afternoon. I am going to start a 3rd book of the stack you sent me. Haven't decided which one yet. My sister just informed me she was sending me a small-ish box of books! I won't need the Library OR Books-a-Million. I miss those little independently owned bookstores. I used to go to one named The Little Professor. But, on the other hand, at least I don't spend as much as I used to when I would wander around seeing what looked interesting.
We're having a 'Rolling Thunder Revue', minus the music. Also minus the rain! Excuse me now, because I have to look up who formed the Rolling Thunder Revue. I piqued my curiosity~ and I need an answer. ?

Work was very good yesterday, not busy and even slower OOby the end of the day. Did not get together with J as he was helping an elderly friend to and from cataract surgery
My stained glass suncatchers arrived, earlier than I expected given that they came from Ukraine. Still waiting on the Turkish delight I had ordered at the same time
Woke up to a fairly strong thunderstorm. Thankfully it looks like the storms will be past by the time I'm out bird watching. Will do some cooking when I come home and then have lunch with dad. Have a Zoom meeting with a group I'm thinking about volunteering for
Svengoolie has Brides of Dracula which is OK
Will be warm today, in the lower 90s
