Tweety I've definitely noticed a lack of good service in the provider offices I call, often long wait times and inexperienced staff
Ado that could definitely be contributing to the procrastination
NJ22 buying a car is definitely a hassle, although I had a pretty good experience with CarMax
Stars being a caregiver does put a lot of strain on a person, and limits what they can do
Work was a bit busier than expected, had new case at last, and a patient who needed a new home health agency. Had time at the end of the day to help others but no one needed help, so the day ended quietly
Not much done after work, did some adjustments to my profile on the dating apps and did a little more searching, in addition to exercise
Today not sure if I will do bird watching this morning, as there is little to see in the depths of Winter. Will have lunch with dad as usual and might do the cooking for the week this evening
Svengoolie has Attack of the Killer Tomatoes which I'm going to skip
Will get up to the low 30s today, but temps will drop and will be in the single digits tomorrow

Good afternoon.
We're going to get some of that artic blast but the ice will stop well north of here.
Never heard from HR so I can't accept the position. They won't put out a schedule that starts soon until they announce who the positions were given to. On the meantime O have to keep it to myself and pretend I don't know.

It's not really morning still, but let's pretend it is ~
Today the temps are in the low 50's and it is overcast, and some rains are predicted for today and tomorrow. I have to go out and retrieve the empty trash barrel which is still sitting out at the end of the driveway since Thursday night. I also didn't check the mailbox yesterday, so I have to do that, too. Have a load of my laundry to do, a few cups and some silverware to wash up, and the dishes I did yesterday are waiting to be put away.
Prolly won't get my repainted, used-bookcase today, and maybe not tomorrow, but I still have to clear the bedside where I am going to put the bookcase. I f Nannie dozes off I may go upstairs and do some clearing and put some of my folded laundry away.
SiL messaged me this morning and said that she will come over tomorrow and get Nannie for the day; the Senior Care Center is closed for Martin Luther King Jr Holiday. Nannie will go there on Wednesday and Friday this week. Maybe I can make myself feel like zipping around upstairs and clearing out a lot of the various messes/piles of stuff; you know the drill: toss out, donate, and recycle, and >>>>>straighten up and fly right!
Nannie and I are both up and dressed. I'm on my 2nd cup of coffee and Nannie is through with her breakfast and has had her meds. She has one of her shoulder-wraps on and is staring at her shoes. The eyelids are getting heavy; sleep, Nannie, s-l-e-e-p! I love that new neck pillow I got for her, it is wide enough that no matter which way she turns her head, it won't fall off.....she will keep her head, and the pillow!
Haven't had a chance to hold the diagnosing stick under her for a sort of clear-catch, that says yes or no or maybe about Nannie having a UTI. But that is okay because she has stopped going to the bathroom every ten minutes, these last two days. It's sad she has no clue about whether she has to pee or poop or just has gas. Last night when I was getting her up to go to the bathroom and then to bed, I told her to stand up a little straighter, and she said "I can't" and her knees began to buckle. I said , "DON"T YOU DARE FALL!" and she straightened up her knees and did not fall. Whew! That would've been a call for the first responders to come get her up. She would've landed on a small (sharp-edge) table with her butt, and the arm of the recliner would've come into hard contact with her shoulder, and THEN, she'd complete the fall with her head between the two recliners, one of which has wooden arms. That recliner was my FiL's chair, years ago, and it is really only used for a perch when the iL's come over, because it is as hard as a rock and uncomfortable. Hubby was sentimental and wouldn't agree to tossing it out because it was his dad's chair. Anyway, Nannie's fall wouldn't have been a pretty picture, and I sure couldn't have gotten her up! Maybe I can relocate that recliner to the trailer, to go to the dump, and see if one of the smaller rockers upstairs might suffice for that spot in the den.
Okay, Nannie is closer to dozing off, so maybe I can get up shortly and do a few more chores or tasks......or not! You know me, I never pass up a chance to ignore my itinerary.
I guess while it is not raining presently I should at least take care of bringing the trash barrel in and checking the mailbox, anyway, because time's a'wastin'!
As I was emptying the wastebaskets downstairs and starting a laundry, Nannie opened her eyes and said, "WHAT are you DOING?!?" I told her I was doing what I do every. single. day. and that she should close her eyes and take a nap. She frowned at the 30 gal trash bag I had collected everything in and had set by the foot of the stairs to take up when I go upstairs again. She seems to think that everything should be accomplished post haste and tout suite, all at the same time, with a hustle! But no miracles from me.....I get it done, but don't race around unless I am in high gear, which I am NOT, today!
!I didn't miss anything by not picking up the mail yesterday....All it was, was an offer from Physicians Mutual, and a menu from a Chinese restaurant. At least there were no bills!
I am going to adjust the back of the recliner so Nannie is inclined to sleep. She keeps opening her eyes and looking outside. She said there were two black cats who had landed in the yard. It was two crows. OY.

Hello all!
I slept IN, didn't wake till I heard my phone going off at 11!! Didn't mean to sleep that late but by then it was water under the bridge. I got to hear the last few minutes of Sabbath School, then I tuned into the livestream from a local church, where friends were leading the singing for the morning service. Then dh and I got ready, and took oldest ds out to lunch, to our favorite Thai place. Had some tom yum plah (fish soup, with cilantro and galanga and mushrooms, in a clear broth), spicy eggplant (me), basil basil (dh), and drunken fried rice (ds). THEN we ended it with a scoop each of their *homemade* coconut ice cream! It is DIVINE! Dh had his with sweet sticky rice, and ds had his with friend banana. Me, I had mine plain, it is SO good. I ended it all with some hot jasmine tea. Dh had iced Thai tea, ds had iced coffee. And we had a good chat. Solved almost all the world's problems. And came home with leftovers!
The Eaton Fire is now 73% contained (Per my Watch Duty app), and 14,117 acres. The Palisades Fire is 43% contained, at 23,713 acres. I know, you could get all that from the news or your own app! I am just trying to keep track of things, myself. I cringe to think of what our (collective, area-wide) insurance costs will do in the near future... I suppose time will tell.
I hope you had a good day, NSIME (and by that, you know I also mean, I hope Nannie had a quiet, free-from-drama day)!
Tweety, I hope *they* would care to inform you directly if you got the position! Seems like a weird way to go about things, but hopefully there is a method to the madness.
Joe, I can imagine that with the cold temperatures, there would not be many birds out for birdwatching! It's good for you to get outside and walk, in spite of that. I hope you have a good weekend.
Not much else going on. Have a good evening!
Dianah, to clarify my manager and asst. manager told me I was offered the job in person. They then said HR would contact me to discuss the salary and afterwards I was to either accept the offer or not. So I'm not sure if HR dropped the ball or if they were late reporting to HR they offered me the job.
The stucco guy is coming tomorrow to "finish up". He was scheduled on Monday. Doubtful he can finish it tomorrow given the slow progress he's made so far but I have to trust the process.
Worked the floor with 6:1 ratio. Bleh
Good Evening. Tonight's moment or weirdness was when I was listening closely to something on the TV, and Nannie had to get my attention....so, I muted the sound and said "What?" and she peeled her shirts up from the waist and said very proudly "I have 5 layers on. See?"🤪 I said, "So?" and she said, "I just wanted to show you." (she only has on 3 layers, not that it matters) Oooookay, then. Close to bedtime for Nannie, thank goodness. She never did nap this afternoon.
SiL is supposed to come get Nannie up and dressed and TAKE HER AWAY for the afternoon.

Sorry about your car, J22.
Stars, I'm glad the neck pillow will keep Nannie from losing her head 🙂
I kind of enjoyed the leadership team meeting at the church but since then have been ruminating on things and feeling grumpy. Probably related to not having my antidepressant. Maybe Monday I will get restocked?
Book club was enjoyable. Nothing there made me grumpy 🙂
Need to do my usual weekend tasks of cleaning out the fridge, grocery shopping, and LAUNDRY. Oh, but we're supposed to go sing hymns with the nursing home residents tomorrow afternoon. Should have accomplished more today.
I thought I heard rain earlier but it's 22 degrees out there so maybe not!
