Well,  finally got my modem yesterday afternoon and got internet back up,  though not before trying their set up app without success and calling into technical support. Did a pretty good  job at not getting upset about it all.  Tried using my phone as a mobile hotspot for  the work computer but the connection was so slow I could barely do any work.  Thankfully my boss moved the non-essential stuff to next week and coworkers handled the rest

Stayed a little late to answer 2 calls and check emails.  Had time for a quick trip to the store and then do my  Friday ritual of a hot bubble bath and a white Russian

Since it's now too cold and snowy for bird watching I plan to drive south to my aunt's old house to see if it's still there.  We used to go there very often for Christmas.  Hopefully I can get there and back before the snow started, they're expecting another 3-6 inches

Might get together with dad for lunch if the snow isn't too bad by then.  Have a rice dish to make for the church annual meeting and potluck tomorrow

Svengoolie has the original Godzilla which should be pretty good.  His show is now a bit longer,  two and a half hours

Will be in the 20s today with snow later this morning and possibly into Sunday morning

Good morning!

Tweety, yah, taxes.  A necessary evil.  Don't let 'em get your BP up, it's not worth it!  I haven't yet made our appointment.  This will be my first partial year of retirement.  I should have a paycheck from "work" for the first quarter of 2022, then after that is retirement.  Will see how it goes.

Joe, yes, they are bald eagles.  Beautiful creatures!  Apparently the last couple of days saw them chasing ravens away from the nest!  They are good parents. 

Not much planned for today.  Yesterday I made a cabbage-kielbasa(soy) skillet dinner.  We will have leftovers today.

So, this AM when hubby went out to do his ABC store run, he got stopped for speeding (???). At the time, he was not drunk, but the cop took his license because the middle initial was wrong . (????) He said it said his middle initial was on their records as "R", and it isn't. Of course I never have looked at the license closely, so I don't know. And when he got home and called the cops about it, they said he 'relinquished' his license. He said, "No, sir, the officer put it in his pocket." They told him he'd have to go to a town a little ways away, to the DMV and have them make him another license with the correct initial on it. We'll have to see if the across-the-street neighbor who told me a couple of months ago that she had Tu-Wed-Th off and would be glad to sit with Nannie if we need her to. That also might be a good time to ask her to sit with Nannie for however long it'll take to admit him to rehab.

I still have to make that list of what to bring and what to leave at home, which I can do today on-line. Then we have to go shopping for the rest of his clothes. I'm going to start pushing for an entry day/date to shoot for, give him a choice of which of the three days of the week, which will partially depend on what day the neighbor can sit w/ Nannie. I imagine we will start out in the early-ish morning, as I will not be driving after dark, so afternoon start is out.

It is Saturday, but there is no rest for the weary.

Good Grief~

So get this! A good while later after telling me about getting stopped by the cop, NOW hubby tells me this happened last week or the week before! Never mentioned it at the time. He says the cop stopped him down at the long end of our road, and allowed him to drive the car home. I don't know what to believe, but supposedly we can go to the DMV and get another license. Who knows.

Good evening, all!

Hubs has me watching a series called Lockwood and Co. It's reasonably entertaining. 

Yesterday afternoon Hubs called me to moan that his mother had been yelling and trying to leave for about 45 minutes. He had given her a seroquel and was about ready to give her another but it finally kicked in. Her neurologist had us stop giving Abilify a couple weeks ago. Doesn't like the idea of using both. But she seems more agitated than usual. Yesterday Hubs was just about ready to consider a nursing home. (I first celebrated -- secretly-- but then felt kind of small for feeling that way). 

I'm not being at all productive at home. I did grab my stethoscope and listen to the black cat to see if I could pick up the murmur. Yes, it is pretty pronounced. Also learned it can be hard to listen to a cat's chest because he was purring. ? At least people don't do that. I've had some people kind of vocalize trying to persuade me they're wheezing. But they don't purr.

It was 64 degrees today. The snow is completely gone. But tonight another cold front moves in with a low of 23, high tomorrow 32. Monday night there will be rain, snow, or ice. Probably ice.
