Tweety that seems like a smart idea

Ado I'd do the same, I have a lot of TMJ tension too

NJ22 an Alaska cruise sounds nice

Stars glad it has been a quiet night

Work was pretty good yesterday, the new person on our team was off but there was little to do for her.  Day ended on a quiet note.  After work was quiet too, just exercised and worked on the shopping list for next week and read

Today will head outside for a hike, it's cold but not as cold as earlier in the week  Need to drop some food off at the local animal shelter, then run an errand or two and have lunch with dad as usual

Will be a bit warmer today, in the upper 20s

47 degrees and overcast; supposed to rain.....and it has, so far, a little bit. Not sure if it is going to get any wetter; we could use the rain, as they say we are still in a drought.

Woke up 4:30 AM because Tinker decided to bark and raise Holy He!!. but I don't know why! I searched the house, but there was nothing here except her imagination. So I took the time to rub Capsaicin cream on my knees and front thighs which were aching pretty bad. It did help, because the ol' legs didn't scream when I got up at 8 AM and took my morning pills. When I finally got up and got dressed at 12 noon, my legs were behaving nicely for a change.

Walked Tinker, and once back inside, I dragged my feet as usual about getting the Nannie-person up and dressed.

The last few hours I was in bed, I was thinking about getting some of the recycling collection trimmed down.....cut out my name and address and the identifying features on the mail that has been collecting for months! Too bad it costs so much to get it shredded. Tinker hates the shredder and constantly barks when it is running, Think I will look around on-line and see if anyone is offering a free shredding event. If I took ALL the shredding to a place where I would have to pay, it would probably be about a hundred bucks or something ridiculous like that.

I am not sure if it is today or tomorrow when SiL will come over and take down the Christmas decorations. As long as I don't have to do it, I don't care when it is done:  Valentine's Day, Easter, 4th of July.....!

I have finished some of the laundry....some of Nannie's clothes and towels were already in the dryer, so I folded them, (and was Nannie's morning entertainment: "That looks so pretty" and "I have something like that". Amazing that she remembers SOMETHING! ) Now my laundry is in the dryer. There is a nicely cleaned kitchen, which I took care of last night. And while waiting on my laundry to dry, I vacuumed the den, Nannie's bathroom and bedroom. Pin a rose on my nose.🌹👃 🤪

After I put one of "those" sweaters on Nannie and politely observed her showing me how she has TWO POCKETS ("Look! See?") and can put a hand in each one (!!!) , I thankfully watched her doze off. She's not completely asleep but she is tilting toward her right which is an indication of the sleep to come. (*fingers crossed")

May be back by here later..... Hope everyone's weekend is more tolerable than mine!

Apparently free shredding events don't happen around here until after April 2026. Everything else listed on-line was for 2024 and 2025, which is not the least bit helpful to know. Ppfftt!

Good evening.

Joe hope you got a nice hike in.  I was able to walk outside on Friday and wound up taking my jacket off as it was warm in the sun.  It's been raining this evening.  We need it.

I'm now at a point where I shred as I go and don't let it pile up.

Just saw a bill on MyChart for $100 that I went ahead and paid.  Got knows what for.  So far I've paid $400.00 for my surgery.  I shouldn't complain.  I really should do as patient advocates say and get an itemized bill, but I can't be bothered.

Work today was just okay.  Started out sending someone to a higher level of care with rapid a. fib.

I thinking of going to North Carolina to visit my folks and sister in May, unless I get "that call" which given mom's poor health, I may.

Hello all!

It rained yesterday and today.  We were up at 4:45 am to be at the church at 6am, in order to warm up for music from 7-8 am.  Church was having a 24-hour prayer event, and different emphases and readings and presentations every hour.  We were the 7-8am, along with a family who presented some thoughts.  It was a very forward-thinking event, with different prayer sessions centered on the community and the world, not just the church.

After the music, we came home and took a nap!  Then after lunch we went to a house jam in Mentone, about 15 min away.  There were five of us, in a small room.  Despite the rain, it was cozy inside, and we had a good jam.  Left there at 6 and so far the car is unloaded of the instruments.  Cats are waiting for dh to feed them, and then we will have supper.

Tomorrow's plans for Disneyland are being changed, as rain is forecast tomorrow as well.  As the bands don't come out when it rains there, and they are the main reason we go to the parks (besides walking), we choose to change our reservations if there is a strong forecast of rain.  I'm sure I will find projects to do at home (laundry, cleaning, etc).

I made dh an apple crisp.  The recipe includes juice and zest of an orange, which he loves.  He wants more toffee, and I am hoping I can make it "right," where it will harden.  I'm sure I can find a YouTube to tell me what to do to get Perfect Toffee. 😉

Tweety, I hope you can soon arrange for a visit to see your sister and your parents.

Joe, how was the hike?  And how is your dad doing?

No Stars, hmmm, wonder if you should plan on applying capsaicin cream to potential pain areas before going to bed?  I hope Nannie was able to doze off (and not be so irritating) during the day.  AND I hope she went to bed nicely.

Have a good evening!
