Tweety sounds like a productive day

Ado I hope the vet can find a solution for the cat

Stars I don't think I've had that sensation, although here there is only a limited ability to see the stars

NJ22 I find the Christmas shopping crowds a bit much for me too

Remainder of the work day yesterday went fine, was a relief to have  decent day after 3 fairly crazy ones.  Rest of the day was pretty quiet, just exercised and took it easy

Today will do bird watching in the morning.  Then will meet dad for lunch for the delayed celebration of my birthday.  Tonight I'll be going with a friend from the gay group downtown to see another member of the gay group who is a musician perform.  Thankfully he'll be doing the driving and downtown parking

Will be considerably warmer today, I think it will get up to the mid 40s, a relief from these colder temperatures we have been having

Nannie had just got up and sat in the recliner just as I was coming downstairs. I fed her and gave her the meds, and now I have to take her into the bathroom to put some clothes on her ... the ones she is wearing now are an awful conglomeration of un-matching tops, that if she was in her right mind she would be horrified about!

I will be back to finish this in a little while....

PS I STILL haven't done any of the dishes and the sink area looks like a big wind came through and heaped it all up. "And I call the wind....(not Mariah,) No Stars"

I discovered two more tops under the other three she had put on, and three pairs of pants, one of which was her pj bottoms. w00t! I swear (frequently) that if she still had her 'right mind' she would be horrified at the outfit! But I have her straightened out now and she is smiling and clapping her hands and going through her "SEE? See?" show as if I had no clue of what she is now wearing.

Okay she has become quiet and subdued, looking alternately at the bright sun in the yard AND then she contemplates her clothing again. Kind of looks like pre-nap  'activity' is going on. Sleep, Nannie, SLEEP! I have dishes to attack up in the kitchen! And if she conks out real good, I can dash out to the store and get more paper towels and garbage bags that I forgot to get yesterday or whenever it was I was last out.

Supposed to get very cloudy later, but no rain, as the humidity level is only 30%. But it is going to rain off and on from Monday through Wednesday, with the possibility of  thunderstorms.

Hoping, as Nannie's head gets heavier, for a quiet day!

No sleeping 😫 .  She has become enthralled with folding up every single hem of every single piece of clothing she has on, she is absolutely intent on getting each folded portion to be equal. She appears very serious about this activity! But, at least she is being quiet.

I've got nothing done. Hubs had the boys drive the Jeep for their trip and they've called to say it overheated. We spent a lot of money to supposedly fix that problem several weeks ago. Very disappointing. So they are nursing it along and we are worrying.

In a cleaning frenzy sometime back I cleared out the pantry. Not sure what I did with my mother's recipe box. Unable to find it, I can't make a grocery list for baking. But where can it be?

That's a relief!  I was pretty sure you would have not tossed them, but if you're anything like me, you put them someplace "safe," and had forgotten where that was!!

So frustrating about the Jeep's continuing issues.  AND I know you are worried about your "boys" getting home safely.  Hopefully they have calm, clear heads and they will be home soon.

Hello all!

We had band practice yesterday afternoon.  We will get together again Wed. afternoon, before the Saturday program.  It's so good to play together, and work on arrangements.  BUT, we always seem to come up with more songs than we need, and then we want to work on the new ones, which distracts from the practice!  LOL, and we chat a lot, which is nice.

We have spent a quiet day at home.  I didn't sleep well; my watch says I got 6 hr of sleep -- and I woke up at 1130!!  I missed Zoom Sabbath School.  Dh and I watched an episode from The Chosen.  And, I read a couple interviews with the cast members, about Season 4.  They have finished filming Season 5, and it should be out in theaters in March or April.  It remains, in our opinion, still an amazing series!

I need to bake cookies, we are running low on them!  Here's our favorite recipe:

Spice Cookies with Pumpkin Dip

Ingredients:

1-1/2 cups butter, softened

2 cups sugar

2 large eggs, room temperature

1/2 cup molasses

4 cups all-purpose flour

4 teaspoons baking soda

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon ground cloves

1 teaspoon salt

Additional sugar

PUMPKIN DIP:

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

2 cups canned pumpkin pie mix OR, may use canned pumpkin

2 cups confectioners' sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Directions:

Cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and molasses. Combine next 6 ingredients; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Chill overnight.

Shape into 1/2-in. balls; roll in additional sugar. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° until edges begin to brown, about 6 minutes. (no more!) Cool 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack.

For dip, beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in pumpkin pie mix. Add confectioners' sugar, cinnamon and ginger; mix well. Serve with cookies. Refrigerate leftover dip.

Thanks for the recipe! I've made a pumpkin dip similar to this before but served it with store-bought gingersnaps. No doubt homemade is better.

The guys safely made it to Black Mesa and are experimenting with the telescope and the camera.
