Tweet glad work wasn't too bad

NJ22 glad your sister is home

Stars hopefully he can get that stent soon and be discharged

Ado happy birthday to your boys

Work was pretty good yesterday, in fact the day was slow enough that I had enough time to finish frosting the cake and do the dishes

After work stopped at the library then went to the potluck.  It was a good time, fairlywi bit crowd.  Met a new person there who shares my interest in hiking and birdwatching, was glad to make someone new feel welcome.  In addition to the potluck someone played piano and we sang Christmas carols.  And, being a gay group, once we ran out of Christmas carols we did some show tunes

Today have to take the new car in to get checked out, hopefully nothing serious turns up.  Will try to get out and hike too if the rain stops.  Dad is celebrating his birthday today with his ladyfriend, so we'll do something next weekend.  Svengoolie has The Raven which I remember as being so-so, will probably skip

Supposed to get up to the 50s again today but will get cooler once the rain stops

It is 67 degrees and though it is supposed to be only partly cloudy, it is completely overcast. The forecast said maybe some light rain late this afternoon, but tomorrow it is supposed to have heavy winds and 100% chance of rain. You know, if it is going to be 100%, that is not exactly a 'chance'.

I woke up earlyish (8 AM) and got up to take my meds, then went back to sleep. Don't recall what I was dreaming (except it WAS in the usual locations) but I woke up quite P.O'd. When I went to wash my face, what I saw was all frowny and puffy, so I really LOOKED just like I felt. How lovely.

The way I feel, I don't have any agenda for today, and I don't even care! If Nannie does a heavy after-breakfast nap, I'll probably do something, but I have no idea what.

SiL left a message on my phone saying that BiL had the stent inserted, everything went well, and they are keeping him in the ICU for a day or two, just-in-case.

VERIZON left me a message that my bill was overdue (by ONE day! GASP!), but said I can call them to pay it. Oh joy.

I hope the coffee I am drinking kicks in pretty soon; it's one thing being po'd, but from a dream? GADS!

Hi. It's in the mid 30s and snowing, with a little bit sticking. We participated in the Jingle Bell Run/Walk this morning, before the precipitation started. We took the dogs and met with eldest ds and youngest grandson. Then we went to breakfast, and DiL and oldest grandson joined us. Dd stayed home to sleep in. She works with a non-profit and has been busy handling donations coming in to help with heating and housing. This afternoon we are snoozing in front of the TV, dh is channel-surfing and I'm watching videos on my laptop. We talked about setting up the Christmas tree, but are afraid the youngest dog will attack it.

I watched a movie on Netflix called the Mauritanian I thought was quite good. It starred Jodie Foster and Benedict Cumberbatch.

It's been a couch-potato kind of day. We decided to not watch the news, and have been watching a long string of House Hunters shows, so we are seeing a lot of the country, a lot of homes and yards. I know the producers want the couples to have differing opinions about what they each like, don't like, want, can afford, can't afford...just to increase the 'suspense', and the viewer's interest. Nannie and I agreed, however, there was one couple who should just call it quits and pay for a divorce instead of buying a house!

All I did today was make our beds, heat up food for supper, and wash a few dishes. There was no sunshine, as there was 'supposed' to be. It sprinkled a little, and overnight we are going to catch the edge of the big storm(s): thunder, lightning, rain, wind, the whole nine yards.

G'day!

Was warm today in the upper 70's but I was at work.

I was in charge and making rounds and noticed a patient was wet and cleaned him up and took off his t-shirt and noticed he was on a dobutamine gtt which is not a med-surg protocol.  But he was DNR CMO measures and the wife wanted it continued. She will allow it to be discontinued when he gets an inpatient hospice bed.  The controversy was, why was I just finding it mid shift when the nurse from this shift and the prior shift, and the ER didn't note it?  Anyway, risk management, the manager on call (my manager) and administrator on duty and the pharmacist allowed it to stay.  What a stink I made.  But glad I found it so it could be addressed.

I left on time which is always a blessing.

Yikes, Tweety. You were right to make everyone aware of that.

Didn't do much today except bake a birthday cake. Now I've had far too much sugar but it was a good cake! Hubs got the Christmas stuff down from the attic but we can't decide where to put the tree. Now he is watching the Pacers play the Lakers in the final game of the new "in-season tournament" the NBA started.

Got up around 3:30 AM and went down to the kitchen for a cold drink, and as I was about to leave the kitchen, I tripped and fell. Gawd! I felt like hubby must've felt when he fell...no clue it was about to happen, and then I was wondering why the left side of my face and hair were in a wet puddle on the floor. Like....WHA? HUH? It was definitely weird! I did not get my glasses frames bent, though! And my cold drink was a pepsi, so the drink was not alcohol. It did splash all the way across the front hall floor to the front door. I threw a towel down and went up to bed. This morning I saw just how much further the spill went, and had to get a wet towel and wash up the stickiness, twice. Only visible injuries were both my knees had spots that were red and bruised, and my left wrist has a small blood-blisterish mark on it. I was holding the sippy cup in my left hand, but sort of up against my left shoulder, and I guess that is what cushioned my fall, preventing my face and glasses from a hard meeting with the floor. Though I was not drunk, it was a very sobering experience!

Today is wet, lotsa puddles in the yard, and there have been a few anemic rolls of  thunder; but the day is not over yet, so we'll see if we get any more of this storm that has fallen upon the state West of us and trouncing further North of us. There were a few tornadoes in Clarksville and a tad North of Nashville. I looked for the weather channel, to see what was being predicted, but they are having some actual non-weather programming, which is odd.  I remember when people used to turn on the weather channel and leave it there, watching the same forecasts over and over and over again. As a private duty nurse with a weather obsessed patient, it did get a bit wearying for that to be playing on their TV for an entire shift!

No agenda for today, except washing the towels I used to clean up The Big Spill. Not sure I'll be as much of a couch-potato as I was yesterday, but not promising I won't be, either!
