Hello, don't mind me, I'm grumpy!
Couldn't get to sleep till after 3, and then slept fitfully, waking often to toss and turn. Manx cat tortured me with his wiggle legs, miaowing, and occasional sharp claws, till I got up. While fixing breaky, I thought I'd put the egg where it couldn't be swiped off the counter. Well, he figured out how, and swiped it off the counter and began to eat it. In my grumpiness, I chased him away and cleaned up the mess, then got another egg. Fast forward: egg is ready, waiting in the pan. Toast is sliced. I am cutting up veggie-burger and found myself suddenly too near the edge of the counter. Whoops, entire plate turned over and landed upside-down on the floor. Sans egg, which was still in the pan. In my grumpy state, I hollered and then picked it all up and put it back on the plate. Inspected it. Well, have probably eaten worse at the beach or camping. Wasn't about to begin again. And I ate it. So there.
Ado, bless you for working when you were needed. How is Twin A (??)'s job going?
Joe, enjoy your day's activities. Agree, you will probably have to get used to texting as friends with J. It's a transition.
My cold is slowly disappearing, thankfully. I hope to sleep in a normal position tonight, not with head elevated.
It's cloudy out and temps in the 60's but unfortunately, no rain forecast.
No plans for the day, besides Zoom Sabbath School.
Have a good day!
dianah~ Can't blame you for feeling grumpy after the breakfast fiasco! I would've gone ahead and eaten it, too.
I'm grumpy, too, as I got up late (1 PM) because I stayed up very late, (2:40 AM) reading. Hubby and Nannie were each sound asleep in their recliners. Nannie had not had her breakfast yogurt NOR her AM meds. Hubby COULD HAVE given her the breakfast, but he "didn't want to wake her up. He had gone out to the store and got a large can of Dinty Moore Stew and some cornbread. I believe he also went to the liquor store, as he is walking slowly and oh-so-carefully, as he does when he's imbibed. I told him he has his doc's appt on Tuesday and he better not fall between now and then! AND to watch his intake of vodka to keep from being so unsteady. If he falls before Tuesday I will more damn crabby than anyone could believe, because I am on the edge of it right now. He is talking s-o-o-o-o-o slowly, with spaces between words and phrases. UGH.
Joe, I'll bet the furry outfit will not be too warm in this cooler/cold weather!
Tweety, I meant to tell you, and don't remember now if I did or not, but I wanted to say you have nice knees. Many men have nicer, shapely knees than women do, I don't know why. Same thing with eyelashes, but I don't know about your eyelashes. I just know I've seen lots of guys with full. thick, dark eyelashes, and it is just not fair!
It is a gray, windy, rainy day, temps said to be between 58 and 64, but it ain't no 64 degrees out there! I wouldn't judge it to be more than 53 degrees. We got the renewed license plate sticker today, but there was a problem, as there was NO sticker in the mailing. The spot where the sticker is in the mailing is empty. Guess I'll have to go to the tag office on Monday AM to get it straightened out.
Hubby got a notice from the pharmacy that he (and Nannie?) have refills ready to be picked up, but I am not going out to get them today, (And neither will he, as I don't want him driving!)
Hope all of yez who weren't feeling well are miraculously improved today.
G'day.
Hope everyone is better or getting there. Something tells me Dianah's version of grumpy is pretty mild. But justified given no sleep and breakfast drama.
I'm on the bus about to arrive at a new location. Had a nice falafel gyro for lunch and bought some t-shirts and a nice piece of pottery.
I went through puberty ahead of people my age and hated my hairy legs as a kid. Now, I don't mind. The nurse in me knows that's a sign of good circulation and testosterone. ? Costa Rica has great coffee but it I did not try the monkey poop variety.
Nannie didn't want to wake up for supper. She said she ate before she got here. I told her she LIVES here and that she's only had yogurt and her meds. She disagreed with me on both accounts, so I brought the tray back upstairs. Hubby wants to wake her up and I said to just leave her alone and don't harass her; she isn't going to fade away if she doesn't want to eat right now.
Huh, earlier I asked hubby if he had enough vodka to see him through the weekend and he said he did. Now, after supper, he says he is going out to get some cigarettes. I bought him 4 packs yesterday and I think he has only smoked one pack of them....so this outing must be an excuse to get some more vodka.
I hope I don't lose my sh*t before hubby's Tuesday doctor's appointment. And if he hems and haws about rehab, I've thought of just walking out to go sit in the car. But, I don't want to miss a thing the doctor says.
(OK, Stars, calm down and cool your jets. You have 3 more days to get through.
I had to go back and look at tweety’s knees, yup, they are cute. All that yoga, maybe? I agree with NoStars, about guy legs and eyelashes. When I used to go to the gym more, it always seemed that men wanted thicker calves and women wanted slimmer. My knees are all scarred up, so not cute at all.
Dianah, what a ridiculous series of unfortunate events. Such a naughty cat!
I suppose you are right, NoStars, about your hubby. That would be an example why rehab needs to be in a controlled setting. He can’t even mete out a day of vodka.
Annie, I hope your shifts go smooth.
And Joe, I hope you are having fun!
it’s sunny and cold . I had an excellent pizza yesterday. They called it Green Goddess. It had pesto, spinach and artichoke hearts. And mozzarella of course. I didn’t buy any gifts, but dh did, so the trip was worth it. I took a long nap, that’s my big accomplishment.
7:40 PM - So, Nannie is still sleeping in her recliner. She's not going to be very happy when I make her wake up enough to get her to the bathroom and change her; I'm sure she is soaked to the gills. I want to just get that done and put her in bed....if she will agree to go to bed, that is. But I am going to wait a while longer before I attack that problem. She's breathing, so she's okay. If she won't get up we'll tell her we are calling the ambulance....and I suppose if she can't get up, I will call the ambulance. Who knows?
I just woke hubby up; he has been asleep in his recliner since he got back from his little errand. I said, "You won't be able to sleep tonight if you sleep all evening. He said "I know." He just went upstairs. I hope he will be up to it if I need his help getting Nannie up to the bathroom.
All these "if's".....
Tweety, No Monkey Poop Coffee for me, either, thanks anyway! Love seeing your travel photos and descriptions, and being a remote part of it all!
Took a nice pre-lunch nap, then we watched a couple episodes of The Chosen. Dh played at his online jam, I rested in bed. I thought about going to the grocery store for fresh things but I think I will likely go there tomorrow. We still have some coughing and throat-clearing going on, this cold or flu (it can't be the flu, I got the flu shot, LOL!) isn't gone yet. BUT, we are better every day!
Have a good evening!
9 PM, got Nannie up without difficulty. I had turned off the TV and told her it was time to go to bed. She was soaked, but I got her changed, she peed some more in the toilet. Then I handed her 1/2 a glass of water and her PM meds. Getting into bed she said "Oh, this feels so good. I'm sleepy!"
Ahhhhhhh! ?

Dianah yep it's the big furry convention, I'll just be going for part of the day today and tomorrow
NJ22 here's hoping for a successful interview for your ds
Stars hopefully he will slow down until his knee is better
Tweety thanks for showing the pictures from your trip
Work was fairly rough yesterday, would've been easy but got a new case that was very complicated and the person I was covering for got a new case as well. Thankfully a coworker who wasn't busy took the latter so I was able to get the former and my remaining work done. Glad I have Monday off
After work was quiet, exercised, did some knitting, watch The Next Generation
Texted with J, somehow it felt unsatisfying. Not sure if it's because I prefer calls to texting or if it's just an adjustment to our new relationship. Will probably take some time to sort through, what works and what doesn't
Had weird dreams last night, probably because I woke up early and then fell back to sleep. Normally I can't remember my dreams
Today dad is going to Indiana to see my nephew's Madrigals performance, so we won't be getting together. Instead I'll do bird watching as usual, might do laundry if I have time, then after lunch head to the convention. Will stop back home afterwards then head back to the convention for a few more hours
In the 20s right now but supposed to get up to the low 50s later today
