Stars it sounds like a productive day

Hi TMB

Ado glad things have cooled off

Dianah that was quite the coincidence, running into them there

Was not a bad day at work, although it did get a bit busy at times

After work went to the potluck with the gay group.  Pretty big turnout, got to meet both people I already knew and some new ones too, which is always nice.  Got home a bit later than planned

Today should be an ordinary day....bird watching, lunch with dad, and a stop at the grocery store.

So far the cat seems fine, whatever triggered the vomiting seems to be gone

Svengoolie has The Mad Magician, which I have not seen before so I'll give it a try

Temperatures will be nice today again, in the upper 70s

Good morning!

I posted Friday's post in Thursday's thread.  DOH

Joe, you have a good weekend.

Nice pictures Dianah!  Nice to bump into family.

Reminds me that I need to talk to my niece.  Haven't talked or seen her in a while.  We promise to get together and never do as life happens and she lives too far.  I think her daughter, my great-niece is starting college this Summer.  She wants to be an anesthesiologist.  She's a straight A student and often complained how boring school was.  Might be a wake up call that university is different.  Her mother was a straight A student.  There's a few us of smart folks in my family.  My Uncle was a PhD in math, and a cousin made straight A's.  I actually made a B in PE in high school and B in OB/Neonatal in nursing school so I can't claim straight A's but close.  The rest of my family including my siblings, not so much.  LOL

Off today.  Got woke up by a friend texting me pictures of his walk.  Apparently I also got a text at 3AM but slept through that, some text that my Netflix bill was auto-paid.

Actually slept decently the last two nights for a change.  Schedule a haircut here in a few and will hopefully mow the grass/weeds that are overgrown, especially since all that rain.

I slept OK last night, still had some trouble getting to sleep, despite all the walking in the parks.  Woke up with the alarm, as we have to get moving/ready and pack the car to drive up to bass player's place, for our last practice before next week's program.  In the next few days we will ready the RV for our trip to Summergrass.  Looking forward to jamming and visiting and hearing good bands!  Our band plays the gospel set on Sunday at 9am.

It's predicted to be 103 degrees here at home, today, and same is forecast for where we're going to practice.  Ahhhhh, Summer!!

Joe, good the potluck went well, and that the cat seems stable for now (no vomiting).

Tweety, YAY for sleeping well, TWO nights in a row!  Enjoy your day off.

Have a good day!

Woke up at noon to what I thought was the sound of the front glass door closing, but there was no one anywhere so I don't know what it was that made that sound. But it got me up, and a good thing too, because I no sooner sat down to drink my coffee when Nannie appeared from her room. Got her washed off and dressed. While she was eating her breakfast, I read her the weather from on-line site, And if she said "Huh?" once, she said it a dozen times. Then, once we had that straight she wanted to know if I have to go out for anything. Nope, I don't. I told her it may be a long, boring day again. I am not going to take her out in the 90 degrees weather with high humidity. Maybe I'm being mean, but taking her out for a ride she won't remember 5 minutes after we get back, and in this heat, I just don't feel like doing it. She seems to think now that she should go out for a ride every day. *sigh* Yesterday when I had her out, she babbled and chatted almost the whole time; I had to give up trying to understand her because she was using that high pitched, soft voice with no OOMPH behind it, so I did a lot of "Yeah." and "Uh-huh" and "Oh!" just to seem engaged.

I am not awake enough yet to know if I have anything planned, other than washing her bedding, washing more dishes and emptying more wastebaskets. *YAWN*

Nine hours until Nannie's bedtime....🤣......what a way to mark the time!

Hi. A nice mild day here, a little hazy. Yesterday got rather warm and muggy. I see there are 3 wildfires burning in our county; none are close to us or any homes, but it is contributing to the haziness. I got out for a short jog this morning. I tried to go yesterday, but started late and had to stop because of the heat and humidity. I've been out weeding and pruning roses.

I realized that I should get my vaccines updated because I am going to help oldest sis get to and from her cancer treatments so I called the pharmacy. The latest Covid 19 vaccine isn't out yet, and I made an appointment to get an RSV shot. She starts chemo and radiation Monday. She is getting a PICC today, and will eventually get a port. Part of the treatment is a year of immune therapy after she finishes 6 weeks of chemo. I hope she can get some more weight on. She allowed me access to her online portal and I'm a little concerned about her anemia. She will get labs done Monday and I hope someone addresses that.

Thank you for the pictures Dianah.

Ugh, the heat you all are enduring just sounds miserable. I would stay home and inside too.

Anesthesiologist sounds like an interesting career choice. I always did well in school, and briefly thought about med school, but I hated high school so much, that I didn't want to go to college. And my parents said I was all on my own to fund higher education, and I don't recall anyone encouraging me to go.  Yet, I am happy with how I did my schooling.

Now I am the mean bogeyman who won't let Nannie 'do' anything she wants to do. She refuses to believe she is 94 and hasn't got the strength or endurance she used to have. She is yelling at me about everything....EVERYTHING! Poor Momo ran upstairs to get away from her shouting and arguing. I'm not going to go through all the things she is doing and saying, but I just left SiL a long text about her activity. I have to blow off steam which is why I am back here now....🤯 She may need a new med, or a higher dose. Even an opening at the Senior Activity Center might satisfy her boredom. But JEHOSOPHATS she is plum furious with me.

------------------------25 minutes later-------------------------

Nannie went into her room and put on a second jacket and her shoulder-wrap and said she was going outside. She sat on the patio, and told me when I went out there, that I didn't need to do anything for her. I said I just wanted to sit outside, too.

After I (finally) put out the hummingbird feeder, then within a minute a little female hummingbird flew over and hovered in front of my face, about 5 feet from me. I guess she was saying 'thank-you' because she went immediately to the feeder after she got my attention, That;s the nicest thing that has happened to me in quite a while, and especially today!

Nannie has forgotten she was mad at me, so there is a good aspect to dementia!
