NJ22 glad your flight wasn't too delayed

Ado I hope you can go to the blues festival

Tweety glad you have 4 days off

Hi Stars and Dianah

Yesterday was fairly quiet for me, spent a fair amount of time at the arboretum, then came home and ordered pizza.  Drove around and ran a few errands

Dad thinks he is likely to be discharged today.  My BIL talked to some of the nurses and turns out his blood cultures were not positive.  My sister will be coming today to visit him, if he's discharged we'll take him to his girlfriend's place to pick up his car and then drive to his place.  If he's not yet discharged we'll move the car to his place so it'll be there when he gets home

Was annoyed with J, we were thinking of moving the cars yesterday but he texted to let me know he was under the weather again.  Talked to him later and he was apparently badly nauseated, which is unusual for him, so it was better that we didn't get together.  If it was just his usual allergies or bowels acting up I would have been more annoyed, but this is something different.  We will try to get together again Sunday

Today I will do my usual bird watching.  My sister is supposed to arrive between noon and 2 but will probably be a bit late.  Nothing else really planned, no cooking or baking needing to be done this weekend

Svengoolie has Killer Shrews on, have never seen that one

Think it will get up into the low 80s again

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.  J does seem to be sickly a lot and cancel on you frequently.

Stars, your house sounds like mine.  Everywhere I look there is work to be done and things are getting old.  It's overwhelming.

I slept in and am mostly recovered from the long hard day yesterday.

I cashed in some vacation hours in order not to stop accumulating them and got some shorts and odds and ends.  Want to get some shirts as well for my trip to Costa Rica.  I splurged and got some Oofos flip flops for $55.  Expensive but great for my feet and helping me to not get plantar fasciitis again.  In Florida you wear flip flops all year long.  I do indoors on my hard tile floors.

Am going to mow the grass today but it's sprinkling and sunny.  Should stop soon.  Hope to go to yoga later.

Hope you guys have a good day.

Good morning. It looks to be another hot, dry day here. We had dinner at an Irish-style pub and listened to live music. We really enjoyed our waiter Tom and had a fun time. We are going to see a comedian tonight, Carrot Top. I went to the fitness center this morning to run on a treadmill, and ride a stationary bike, then I sat by the pool for an hour until it got too hot. There is almost no shade unless you rent a cabana. I'm going go shopping shortly, as long as I don't have to be outside too long.

I got dh Oofos, and he likes them. I have some flip-flops from KURU with a molded sole that I like a lot. I am bare-foot mostly at home, and usually wear sneakers when out and about. I love my Brooks running shoes. I am supposed to wear "business casual" at work, so I have some flats for that.

Joe, good news about your dad not being septic. J does seem to being ailing quite a bit. I hope he can get some relief soon. Killer Shrews, eh?

Ado, I hope you are out enjoying music and that the weather is nice.

Joe, hope you're having a good day. And Tweety, hope you're enjoying your days off!

Stars, anyone who walked in here right now would think our vacuum cleaner broke down.

J22, have fun seeing the comedian!

Lazy day today. The high-90s heat is back. Got some laundry going. Tomorrow evening the book club meets at a coffee-and-dessert bar.

Oh, and Hubs is on board with talking to an attorney to try to help stepson.

Good Early evening ~

WOW! What a productive day! I am exhausted! I vacuumed for 2 &1/2 hours: around, under, over, and all around the edges. I finished the down-stairs (den, Nannie's bedroom, her bathroom) and the nine steps up to the kitchen. Then vac'd the kitchen and the hall, and the six stairs up to the 3rd level. At that point I had to change the vac bag, and when I did, I was horrified to find the brush rollers on the bottom of the vac were severely, heavily entwined with hair and dust. It took me about 3/4 hr to get MOST of that cut out. I got clumps of hair that, all total, would make a good-sized kitten! After that, I put the vac aside for tomorrow.

Got Nannie's (wetted) pj bottoms and bathroom area-rugs washed and dried. The soles of Nannie's shoes still have really good treads ... and they have been picking up those wads of cotton she gets on her bathroom floor. She pulls her pads out of the pull-ups, the 'stride' of which often shred each time she does that, and cotton gets everywhere. I only today noticed the soles of her shoes were white instead of the original red/orange color. I used the vac to get some of it off/out, but will have to soak the soles in water and get a metal-wire brush to scrub out the rest. GADS!

You know what? Turning the TV on is the cue for Nannie to start talking! Have to mute it out every few minutes to say "What?" So far, I have heard about "that woman's" hips and belly, "that man's" shirt, tie and jacket....also hairdo styles, double-chins, all very important things to talk about while you're trying to listen to local news/weather. Honest-to-Pete! ANNOYING TO THE MAX! When the network news comes on, we will have to review if the newsman is David or Whitt (she can't tell the difference between them) and other things....more on people's looks, who is tall, who is short, how the world is getting worse and people are so hateful. Then when I mute out the commercials she tells me "the sound on the TV has gone off." Yeah, I know, I am muting it out.

She just said, "What did that lady say about her husband?" [I don't know, I wasn't listening.] Then she told me the weather-lady said something about her husband escaping from somewhere...."  (???????..... I didn't ask!)

Maybe more to come later on~
