Good morning!
Nothing much going on today. Hope to get outside for a walk before the heat and humidity creep up. Well, it's already humid and 84.
I suppose I should shred but I don't. Most of what I get is junk mail as most of my transactions are automatic or online.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Hello all!
Yesterday I did a few errands. Tried to find some method of safely transporting pies. So far I have not identified a good method, especially for three pies. I plan on baking the Fruit of the Forest pies: one for us, one for our friend P, and one for a memorial service (all pies) on Friday at the festival. We will arrive at the festival on Wednesday, so I need to bake them on Tuesday. They will be OK at room temperature for a couple days, but then need to be refrigerated. I just need some safe way to transport them from home to the festival.
And, it was 104 degrees when I was running around -- first to Bed, Bath, and Beyond, then to Target, then back to BB&B to return something I bought there that just wouldn't work. Dh and I worked on a plan, using the things I bought at Target. I think we have a workable plan.
Today we attended Zoom Sabbath School, and tonight we will have a Zoom session with the kids. Last night we watched two episodes of The Chosen. Such an astounding series! This is our fourth re-watch, and we enjoy it more each time we watch.
Have a good day!
Good Early Evening~
I spent the whole day in bed with pain in my right upper abdomen, middle of the back and tummy (mid-torso), and a few other s/s. I looked it up on line and yes, they are the CLASSIC S/S of Gall Bladder attack! ACK! Too much like my mother, in that I LOVE and use, plenty of butter! Last night, like 2:30 AM.... I went to the kitchen and slathered butter on a couple of leftover dinner rolls. YUM! Then I went back to bed and woke up with the above s/s. I believe that toooooo much better is what set things off. So, maybe I can get through this w/o having to have surgery if I cut WAY DOWN on fatty foods and the much loved butter. *fingers crossed*.
It is somewhat better now, so I decided to come down to the den to watch today's Game 2 of Braves and Marlins. (We won the first game.)
What I have walked into is an atmosphere of grumbling, arguing, between husband and mother-in-law. She told him she had to go to the bathroom, he said, so, go to the bathroom. She says "I can't get up." He had to re-instruct her how to use the recliner remote control. Then it was : "Where's your walker?" -- "It's in my bedroom." -- "What's it doing in there?" -- "I don't know." ?
He went to get her walker and told her it should be with her at all times. She very smartly answered that she didn't need it because she's sitting down, not walking. Oh brother! Later, she came out with her wet pants draped across her walker. (I put them in the washer to wash at another time.) Hubby has decided it's a good time to go out to his "office," to get away from her....now that I am down here. He said to me, "I don't know how much more of this I can take."
It was a good day to stay in bed ?.
Joe, I LOVE brie w/ mushrooms! Won't be indulging for a while, though.
Hey, Tweety!
dianah, Hope you have come up with an idea of how to transport the pies! ~and PS: 104 is too hot to be 'running around'. Like there is a choice, huh?
It has been somewhat-not-quite-as-hot here, in the mid-to-upper 80's but still humid. I haven't been outside much. I sat out on the front porch w/ hubby while he filled me in on the Nannie-Tales of the day, but other than that I've been inside. The front porch is sometimes the only place we can have some talk-time, and even at that, when we both go out there, when I come in I see Nannie has gone into the bathroom to see if she can eavesdrop on us. We don't have loud conversations so I doubt she hears anything revealing. But as I say, "Those who eavesdrop, often hear things they don't want to hear."
Guess I'll just watch the game----
Hope all are well!
A good day to stay in bed, indeed.
The event at the museum was fun. I helped kids make "track identifiers". One side had different animal tracks and the other side showed which animal they belong to.
That and cooking and cleaning up is all I have done today. Hubs announced that tomorrow morning he is going to the lake so I guess I will be Gma sitting. Along with Twin B who sleeps all morning. I'll go feed kites in the late afternoon.

Stars that's good that he's open to rehab. Perhaps attending the next appointment with him would be a good idea
Ado that's cool that they're having an event at the university
NJ22 hope your stomach and your dh settle down
Hi Tweety
Work was unusually difficult yesterday, a lot of different things to do, and quite stressful. Had to cut lunch short again, and had to work right up until the last minute. Next week we shouldn't have anyone out, so that should help
Did not get together with J, he hadn't slept the night before as he'd mistakenly taken his morning pills in the evening. We'll try again Sunday
Went to Trader Joe's and got some brie with wild mushrooms to go with the water crackers I had. Water crackers being quite dull without cheese
Signed up for some lessons at a local yarn shop. Will probably drop by next weekend. I feel I'm close to doing knitting right, just need a little help
Today will leave earlier than usual for bird watching, as I have a dentist appointment in the later morning. Want to stop by the credit union too as they're doing shredding. Surprised to find only 1 box of stuff that can definitely be shredded, thought I had more. Will do lunch with dad then some baking afterwards
Svengoolie has The Horror of Dracula, a British film that I think is pretty decent
