Yes, it is still morning, but right now it doesn't feel so good. Waiting for my meds to soothe my ol' achin' hips, and the coffee to improve my mood and sleepiness. I woke up at 10:20 AM to pee, and Momo wanted breakfast, so I went down to the kitchen to put her food on a plate to bring down to the den.....And, my gosh, there was Nannie, sitting up in her recliner. ---sigh----
I went ahead and fixed Nannie's breakfast tray and meds. She is still in her sleeping 'outfit'. She seldom wears PJ's, except for PJ pants sometimes; lots of time she insists on wearing her clothes to bed. I gave up on that argument a long time ago, my only insistence is NO jackets or sweaters or shoes will be worn to sleep in. I figure since I have to do her laundry so often, what's another pair of pants or a jersey to wash?
Meanwhile I have come back up to bed and don't really want to go back down and deal with her yet. In a little while I will resume my duties 😕 . If she wasn't up I would've just crawled back into bed and gone back to sleep for another hour. Alas, that doesn't seem to be an option, I suppose I should wash my face, brush my teeth and put some clothes on. As hubby used to say, "In a minute...."
My younger brother, when he was 4, would try to get my mother's attention and once when she said, "Just a minute...", he told her, "But sometimes minutes get stuck together." Pretty smart for a 4 year old.
Okay, I might as well give in to the inevitable, so I will just say "talk with you later...."
G'day.
Home from work. Went off diet myself and had pizza and donuts that a patient's family brought it. It was her birthday today. They have been a particularly annoying and entitled bunch but free food is free food.
Slowbro stumbled about a bit when I got home and got him out of bed. He's getting so frail. Doesn't seem to be in pain though. He's walking around now, and going to let him exercise a bit.
Hello all!
No Stars, I hope the day has been on the quiet side. We have all, I'm sure, been guilty of sticking minutes together!
Joe, what other activities are you thinking of introducing to the Over 50 group, besides the meal get-togethers? Just curious.
Tweety, no harm done with the pizza and donuts. The smell of pizza can be a POWERFULLY STRONG motivator! You are very dedicated to your food regime, which works well for you; I'm sure you will soon slip back into your safe zone. I hope Slowbro is OK. In the same way, we keep an eye on our oldest cat, Toby, noting activity and appetite and interest levels.
Ado, too bad sailing was postponed. I hope you are able to get out on the water soon. There is nothing like being out on the water (in a sea-worthy craft [I almost wrote 'carafe,' LOL! Now THAT was an image!])! I used to love to take a kayak out on a lake.
We practiced yesterday afternoon, then were up at 0600 today, so we could be at the church by 0745 (call time was 0800, for a schedule run-through). Dh needed time to "schlepp" the instruments into the church building. We had the run-through, then a break of about 1.5 hours, in which time the church provided breakfast for all who were helping with the service. Besides our band, there was a men's barbershop quartet, a guitar-and-harmonica duo (playing This Is My Father's World), the Praise Team (for three songs -- drums and electric bass and all!), piano and organ for the prelude and postlude, a skit discussing generational differences and ways of approaching different generations r/t communication and inclusiveness with church functions -- besides the sermon and prayer and prayer response and offering/offertory! A very packed program!
Our part went well. Dh was able to play along with the other musicians to "warm up" his banjo playing (and, with the piano and organ, his banjo couldn't be heard -- he was away from the mike). I recognized four ppl who attended, and who came up before the service to say Hi, which was nice! One I had worked with some 25 years ago, at the County Med. Center! We all had things to do after the service, so unfortunately didn't meet for band lunch. Dh fed the cats when we got home. After we had a simple lunch, we both took a nap!
Hope you have a nice evening!

Tweety that's a good way to think of it
Dianah glad you slept better
Stars glad that you won't have to do any cooking for a bit
Ado I can see why the palpitations would be distracting, hopefully you can address the dryness
NJ22 that must have been annoying for your sister
Work wasn't too bad yesterday, a little busy in the morning but a bit less so in the afternoon. Would have been quieter still in the afternoon but got a new case
Rest of the day was pretty quiet, exercised and relaxed after work
Sleep was interrupted last night. Probably because I decided to do some fasting yesterday to compensate for going off diet on Thurs, and then exercised. Exercising while fasting is rather unwise I've found
Today will be mostly ordinary. Will go bird watching. Will meet dad for lunch. Hosting an event for the over 50 group at an Italian restaurant, expected a pretty big crowd, about 10 people. Thinking of branching out and hosting other activities besides the monthly dinner
Going to be a bit warm today, in the upper 80s, although I think after today things cool down
