Tweety hopefully this hurricane season will not be bad

Stars I've made shrimp and grits before

Dianah that does seem like poor planning on their part

Ado and NJ22 sounds like you're having nice weather there

Work ended up being fairly crazy, not only having to cover for a coworker but 2 new cases.  Was a made rush most of the day but got it done

Need to be more careful during the day, I've noticed on crazy about mid morning I tend to develop scotoma...flickers and fuzzy spots in my vision...from staring too long and intently at the screen.  A break and some eye drops cure it, but should probably give my eyes a rest to prevent it

Rest of the day was OK.  Prepared the tomato bruschetta during lunch, seemed popular at the gay group's potluck that night.  They tried holding it at a community center instead of someone's home, as apparently some people are less comfortable in the homes of people they don't know.  Not sure if this was a success, attendance was lower than usual

Today will do bird watching, the later supposed to meet my friend B downtown to check out the Chicago History Museum.  We'll see if he's up to it, he texted last night to advise he was experiencing body aches, he's supposed to text this morning to let me know how he is

Svengoolie has The Deadly Mantis which I think I'll watch

Weather will be nice today, up to 60 with no rain

Up at 8 AM and took my meds, fed Momo, and went back to bed. At 10 AM, Momo leaped up and started barking fiercely.....and yes, there was Nannie, on her way up to the third level of the house, saying,"I'm wet." I almost, but didn't say, "There's a big  surprise!" Anyway, got her back downstairs to the bathroom, got her dressed, put her in the recliner and fixed her breakfast tray; gave her meds, and said to put her tray on the table beside her when she was through. Told her I was going back upstairs. (PS: She said she liked my"outfit" which is my pj bottoms and a saggy, old jersey. Ah, yes, I am soooo very fashionable!)

I will probably get dressed in a minute and go down to the kitchen to saute some stew beef, then put together in a crockpot with veggies, to simmer all the rest of the day until suppertime.

I just hate being torn out of my sleep abruptly, but Momo is a VERY good and conscientious watch dog! I am trying to clear the cobwebs from my sleepy and stunned brain.  This is just too early to have to start dealing with my "ward".....for the next ELEVEN hours! 😒 < this is a "We are not amused" face.

Anyway, it is 60 degrees and partly cloudy, but no rain is predicted. Like I care. Not thinking of any kind of household chores to be done. I could prolly sleep another 2 hours, but alas and alack, it does not seem to be on the itinerary.

I am trying to breathe and relax my shoulders down from around my ears (a little bit tense, maybe?) but that just makes me want to SLEEP some more. Since I have to get dressed, I wish I was like Samantha and could just blink, nod, and it would be done. But nuthin' ain't too easy and quick when you are a human being, which I do qualify as.

MORE COFFEE, PLEASE!

Ratz! Ain't got no taters nor onion for the stew! So, I used onion powder, and later I will put either pasta or rice in it, a little while before serving. Not exactly what I had in mind for a beef stew, but ya do what ya gotta, and I don't gotta run to the store.! The crockpot is set on low so I don't have to tend to it for 4-5 hours, which is nice.

Weirdly, when I look up from the laptop, Nannie is grinning at me. I want to say "WHAT?!!" but I remain quiet and look quickly back at these keys. Don't want to start what passes as a conversation with her. Good, her eyelids are getting heavy!

I kinda hope the iL's aren't coming over; sometimes they show up on a Saturday to do stuff, but the yard was mowed two days or so ago, and I can't think of any big project that needs their attention. Hope the day remains as quiet as it is at this moment.

Nannie poured her cran-apple juice into her soup because, she said, it was too hot. Then she wouldn't eat it, and didn't want a clean cup of soup minus the juice, either. She did eat her chocolate dessert and a piece of garlic bread. Oh yum. I am never giving her any soup ever again, She has not wanted to eat any kind of soup the last 4 times it was served, regardless of what kind of soup it was.

Well, it was an unusual soup, but it was actually fine.

Good morning!

Work was much better today.  Steady busy with some nonsense that required two incident reports.  But run of the mill day and I was a "free charge".

I got my homeowners and insurance bill and it is significantly less after my wind mitigation survey.  So much so I almost think it's a mistake because I'm so used to it going up year after year.  But if right, I'll take it and be happy about it.

I told my roofer that I would appreciate some ethical business and integrity in getting the job done.  Didn't go over well and she claims her phone broke and lost her messages.  I call BS on that.

Pretty gutsy to blame it on the phone.  I wonder if other jobs they are involved in have taken this long to complete??  I'm glad you got some relief on your insurance bill!  And, I'm glad to hear today's work was tolerable for you, and not crazy.

I did NOT sleep last night.  Maybe an hour here, an hour there.  I took a 2-hr nap after lunch, and just finished making "crackers" (swiss cheese and provolone) and some low-carb biscuits (eggs, almond flour, cheddar cheese, butter, flavorings).  We will have those with the last of the soup tonight.  I have to decide what to make next.  I may make the eggplant lasagne, which turned out tasty and was pretty easy.  I used canned tomato sauce w/basil and oregano for the "marinara" sauce, as it has no added sugar.

Dh is feeling much better today.  As I lay awake last night, I didn't hear him coughing at all, so he slept!  He is feeling well enough to practice playing the upright bass, LOL!

No Stars, UGH, yukky soup with cranberry juice in it!  Sounds reasonable to not serve soup to her anymore, if she isn't going to eat it.  More for you!  🙂  How did your "stew" (minus potatoes and onions) turn out?  I'll bet it was tasty, in spite of the changes.

The work contracted to be done on our little (old!) RV is just about done, so we might be able to take it out in May for the Bluegrass Association's semi-annual campout and jam, in the high desert.  We'll see.  We have camped there before and been assaulted with high winds, which effectively squelch any outside jamming.  Our paint got removed on the hood of the RV, too, due to the wind!  Big splotches of silver metal showing up!  So, yeah, we are still deciding if we are going to camp or just drive up for the day and jam.

Soup tonight is the last of the Immune-Boosting Garlic Ginger Cayenne Pepper soup!  Woo-hoo!  I may cook some cabbage in the microwave and add that to mine, to tone down the WOW factor.  The biscuits will help too.

Have a good evening!

Hi. I rode my bike for the first time in a couple of months. It felt pretty good. I finished and filed the taxes and paid some other bills. I've been sifting through the pile of mail, receipts and books that have accumulated on the dining room table. As I've said, no one puts anything away but me, and I've been ignoring the pile since we got home from our trip. My hay fever has kicked up today, so I'm coughing and have runny nose. Bah. Dd said he will make dinner,
