Yesterday turned out to be pretty good at work, despite some issues with the phone system early on.  Even had some time to help others 

Since I wasn't getting together with J last night I did a little shopping, got some stuff for the church coffee hour and some Grand Marnier  for myself.

 Then I did something I haven't done in a number of years and went to the Galloping Ghost, which is supposed to be the largest video arcade in the world and is very near my home.  Was there about an hour, decided to stop as my hands were beginning to hurt.  Was impressed with how many of the older games they had, that I remember from my youth

Today will take the car in for service, pick up a rental, and then drive out to meet the environmental group.  Thankfully this work day is not far away, although we might get rain later.  Then it'll be the usual lunch with dad afterwards

Tonight Svengoolie has Destroy All Monsters, a Japanese monster movie

Will be a bit cooler today, in the upper 50s with rain likely in the late morning

Joe, how fun, at the video arcade!  Enjoy your lunch with your dad.

That plant was identified by a friend: a variation of kalanchoe, a succulent.  I have no idea how it got there, LOL!  It STILL hasn't bloomed, though there is a cluster of buds very ready!

Dh is making fresh orange juice this morning, yay!  I bought a pineapple yesterday, will cut it up in the next few days.  It will be 90 degrees today, and sunny -- though this morning is still a little cool-ish, which is nice.

Not much else going on here...

Howdy~

The temps are supposed to reach 77 today, but I am dubious about that. It's in the upper 60's right now. The Braves game is once again on a rain delay, and we have it on that channel, but they are playing interviews with former players (yawn). The worst thing is that this "Bally Sports Channel" has trouble with the audio, and right now the only sound comes when the commercials come on. Annoying! Don't know if we'll get to see (and HEAR!) a ballgame or not. Hubby told me to wake him up around 4:30 PM and tell him what we want for supper and he'll go get it. Huh. Okay then. That's all the excitement so far today-------

 I've been trying to read this afternoon but between the Gma and the pets it isn't working well. Twin A is working on a research paper for his class. Twin B works tonight so he's been sleeping but now he's on the video game. What fun we all are!

I skipped out on my book club last night because I stayed later at work to reach a milestone in the CMS submission. Then we watched Maverick. Better than I expected.

We attended Zoom Sabbath School, then had leftovers for lunch while we watched two episodes of The Chosen, Season 1 (re-watching this, AGAIN! ? ).  (see, we are just as exciting as the rest of y'all!!).

Then I just got done making Puttanesca Sauce, and also cooked up the pasta to put it over.  At dh's request, I added some veggie-meat to the sauce.  Hopefully it will taste good.  He is busy with the online jam right now.

Apparently our mailbox is working now, as we got mail from it on Thursday.  None yesterday.  Time will tell.  We have received lots of subtly mixed messages about this, so will keep an eye on things.  The Post Office staff did say  "around tax time" a LOT of boxes get broken into, ppl looking for tax return checks.  Sad.

One drawback to insomnia (besides not getting enough sleep, <grin>) is that I sometimes go to Amazon and order things I think of to order.  I ordered a couple retro-looking purses to take when we go dapper at Disneyland.  And I am always looking for comfortable shoes that don't LOOK like tennis shoes, so I can walk a lot in them.  I don't go crazy, and order things costing hundreds of dollars...  but if I find something that will "do," that is reasonably priced, I will order it.

I ordered and canceled a new CD on Amazon.  Don't need it.  Listened to it on my Spotify subscription and really like it.  But I'll order stuff on Amazon all the time.  What I do is order something I need, then throw on something I don't need.

I can say that work today wasn't too bad.  Not a lot of movement out so no admissions as we were full.  Patients behaved themselves.

It helped to have a secretary answer the endless amount of phone calls.  

I liked Top Gun Maverick.
