Good morning!
Joe, sorry that J reacted to the vaccine and hope you have a good weekend. I carry a lit of stress in my muscles and need to be more conscious of that.
Dianah, Renaissance Fairs are very popular here in Florida. I've been once years ago and should go again. It's during the Winter snowbird season in February so I missed it this year. That's some crazy hot weather. Enjoy the walking, it's good for you.
Ado, glad you were able to find out the problem and do what you could do. Don't you love it when that happens. Sometimes someone will tell me a policy and I'll say "gee glad to find that out after doing it this way for 20 years!".
Julie, glad to hear you're back at work and yes you got this.
J22, I would have gotten the joke about getting a hat. LOL.
Stars, Tampa Bay won their season opener 1 to 0 against Baltimore. How boring. I see the Braves won as well.
I found out a co-worker while I was out on vacation put in her notice to retire. I told her congrats and that I would miss her. She embarrassed me by saying "I didn't think you liked me that much." We've worked together about 10 years but she's on night shift and we talked quite a bit so I said I was sorry she felt that way and I wished her well. Then she warmed up and we talked a bit and said our goodbyes. She was a bit labile and would snap at people all the time and then a few minutes later apologize. The truth is she was annoying as heck to give report to. She was one of those that had to write down all her stuff before she would take report, and during report wouldn't listen and ask questions about things I already told her. Once I told her "D, this is the third time you've asked me a question that I've already told you please focus and don't interrupt". So maybe that's why she thought I didn't like her. But really I was being polite and she could have just graciously said "thank you".
I got a spam text at 1:00AM and was sleeping real good. After that I didn't sleep well and woke up many times throughout the rest of the night. But feeling okay.
Nothing much but the routine today.
Have a great day.
Today is better, so far. Part of me just wants to say "nothing to see here; move along." I won't. Just a random thought.
I don't mind randomness most of the time.
Woke up at 0330 this morning. It was a little chilly and I made my coffee in the French press. Then sat quietly with the world for a bit. It was worth it. I saw an entire herd of deer There had to have been at least 20 of them. Slipped out from between the trees and were grazing in an open field.
Being human, I managed to startle them. After they were gone I got cleaned up and headed to work.
When I got here the sun was just rising and I got to watch a couple of cardinals.
All in all a good morning ☺️
Hope everyone has a wonderful day today.
This is one rude "Springtime" day! It is overcast, and though the temp is said to be 53 degrees, it feels much more like 43. I am bundled up on the sofa as if it was Winter! When I got up and got dressed , I really wanted to just roll back in under the covers and pull them up to cover the top of my head. Not terribly sleepy, though; I just want to avoid the remainder of the day and start out fresh (and warmer) tomorrow.
Here we are again at siesta time in the den! ? These people (Nannie and hubby) seem just as enthusiastic about the day as I do. At least they are not talking. (Yet.) In a short while hubby will do his "what do you girls want for supper..." spiel...I might have my leftovers from the past two suppers for my supper tonight.
The excitement here is unbearable. ? Maybe later I will have something to add here, but right now, this day is a bust. Ppllrrbbb! <-- raspbrries.
Joe, a friend in northern Indiana posted a picture of the snow in his yard. Yes, I'll happily take the 60s. The wind is calmer today and it's beautiful. I'm sitting outside with Gma while Hubs works on the boat. Decided Gma needed a change of scenery since she was sitting at the table after lunch muttering about how we are all a bunch of *** asses. She never used to talk like this. Hubs says she would cuss a little when she was really mad but I don't remember her doing much. I've known her since 1988.
J22, I got the joke about the 10 gallon hat. I know that feeling of a blank stare from younger folks. I'm always a little surprised when I make a classic rock'n'roll reference and they give me that look. *sigh*
Tweety and Stars, baseball sounds fun. We have a AAA team in OKC and it can be fun to go to games. We've talked about going to Big 12 baseball games at OU but haven't done it. Gma does limit our activities.
Hubs is lucky I came outside. He dropped the hose for the shop vac and I was here to get it for him so he didn't have to get out of the boat and back in.
It's sunny here, but cool. We had a hail storm this morning, just lil' ones though, not enough to damage anything. Angus thought he wanted to go out in it, but turned around real quick. I went for a little, gentle jog, after the hail, for about a mile. It felt really good. I got a call yesterday from the clinic where I'm going saying the massage therapist had been in an accident, and would I mind a different therapist? It will be the owner, who I saw for frozen shoulders, and I really like her. I hope he is okay. He did mention he mountain bikes, so I wonder if he took a hard fall. I went shopping for Easter baskets for the grands, so that dd won't have to worry about that during our trip to Portland this weekend. I got the perquisite chocolate bunnies, some candy, games and little kites. I probably got too much, but that's my job as grandma, right?
Julie, your morning sounds magical. There are deer around here, but I usually just see them as doe/fawn combos. We don't have cardinals tho.
Ado, my dad started cussing as his dementia worsened, while words like darn and dang were strictly forbidden when I was growing up.
Tweety, how rude to get spam in the middle of the night! I worked with co-workers like that. Not fun at the end of your shift when you just want to go!
Dh is watching the Mariners lose, and then we are going for a drive, if he doesn't fall asleep in front of the TV. So much excitement.
I should look for a Ren Faire around here. There used to be a local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism that used to put them on, but I think COVID upended a lot of those things.
Joe, I hope you are seeing more birds, as it warms up. I hear lots of birdsong when I go for walks, but am not seeing many.

Yeah, we were admonished for saying even mild words. But my parents were both capable of swearing when really angry or frustrated. So it wasn't really surprising that in his last years Dad would occasionally throw out a g-d d*mn or a sh!t. Once I took him to a doctor appt and thought I could run into the Christian bookstore (there was something specific I was looking for) but that was an error in judgment on my part because he was tired and his knees hurt and he started swearing. I chuckled to myself as I got him back to the car as quickly as I could.
Tonight Gma got mad at me and Twin B, apparently because we didn't involve her in making dinner. There isn't much she is really capable of doing but I promise you we weren't trying to exclude her. Nevertheless, her feelings were hurt and she told Hubs that she doesn't like either one of us. At first she wouldn't come to the table.

Dianah hope things aren't too warm for the Ren Faire
Julie glad you have little over a month left
Hi Amo and Stars
Ado that sounds warm to me
NJ22 glad the pain is better
Tweety glad the orientee is able to take some of the load
Was a busier day at work yesterday due to two people being out. Once comes back Monday, thankfully
Have been keeping an eye on my stress level but it's tricky, stress can be quite subtle. If I pay attention I can notice muscle tension in various part of the body even if I'm not obviously stressed
J was still feeling under the weather from the booster, so we're going to try meeting Sunday
Will head out early for bird watching, going to stop at the arboretum. Wish it wasn't so cold, only getting up to the 40s but in the 30s right now. It seems the weekends are colder than the weekdays lately
Will also meet dad for lunch and do some baking.
Svengoolie has The Wolf Man, which is OK but not a favorite of mine.
