It's Saturday the 22nd, and exactly 4 months until I turn OMG: 74 years old! YIKES! That practically does not compute!
2:40 PM- The Siesta Twins are doing their usual thing ?? Ho-hum.
We had some tremendous thunderstorms and heavy sheets of rainfall early this AM. I woke up, enjoyed it for a few minutes, and then went back to sleep. It is supposed to rain today, but there's an awful lot of that bright sunshine, too.
I guess I better run out to Food Lion and pick up some decaf coffee and Cranapple juice.
Asked hubby if he had called the doctors office about getting documentation sent in so his insurance will cover the test strips for FSBS. He has not. And he has not made any other calls, either, regarding Nannie, finances, any AA meetings, and whatever else he is imagined will magically be taken care of for him. He needs a genie or a fairy godmother, I guess. (It ain't ME, babe !)
Toodles!
G'day!
Joe, safe travels.
Dianah, I guess that's one disadvantage of mail service for scripts that you can't fix it live when you pick them up. I pick up my only script, Trazadone for sleep at work. It's not that inconvenient.
I do feel an antihypertensive might be in my future. I'm not always meeting my doc's goal. 148/90 today. I do have the diet and lifestyle down for the most part, but I think it's chronic work stress and poor sleeping habits. I have put on a few pounds but not much, so that might be the culprit. I'll see what I can do to stay of medication but I'm no fool either and will take what he advices.
I did 30 CEU's towards what I decided will be my final recertification of my ANCC cert. It is due to be renewed in August and I need about 100 more CEU's. Ugh..... I will then last give years by which times I'll be 69 and ready to retire if not already retired. Not sure I'll be like Dianah and keep my license.
Lentils are a staple food for me as a primarily vegan cook. I'm too lazy to make soup and had some I pre-made in my freezer and will just have it with some olive oil and chopped Calabrian peppers. I was going to have some olives with it but don't need the sodium.
My sister is still in town and we're going to get together tomorrow. Her birthday is the end of the month and I'll give her some cash. My parents are supporting her, which I guess is fair since she's taking care of them. Her ex-husband stopped giving her money. There is no alimony because of her drug use. She's taking her time "getting some business done" before heading back to my parents.
Hi.
Safe travels, Joe.
I pushed back for a long time on taking something for my BP, but relented eventually. I still had to cut the dose of lisinopril in half because it made me pre-syncopal. I feel like every time I see a doctor I get a new RX.
I ran this morning, and then went to an orientation to work at the big plant sale that the Master Gardeners put on each year. I have experience working at a nursery, so I feel pretty confident about helping people pick out plants. Then I came home and spent about 4 hours working in the yard, mowing, weeding, pruning. It is supposed to rain this evening and all day tomorrow. According to the local paper this Spring has been unusually cold. Hah, I knew it. Most of the plants seem late to leaf out and/or bloom. The temp is supposed to get up to 70 next Thursday!
I forgot to go the post office yesterday to pick up a package. I ordered a new wristband for dh's Fitbit, and it should have come Wednesday. But it didn't. I checked the tracking, it is being held at the post office "at customer request". Huh? I did not request that. This is a big reason why I don't get meds by mail.
For the most part, I like getting them through the mail. This is the first problem I've had in -- ummmm, 6 years?? I drove over, and I guess they are closed today and tomorrow, as there were NO cars in the parking lot. Ah, well. Will go Monday.
It's 82 degrees out, and there's a nice breeze.

NJ22 that's neat that they can give away so much food
Stars that was nice of that lady to do that
Dianah lentil soup is a favorite of mine
Tweety that seems unfair to send so many at shift change
Ado I hope she doesn't prove too demanding
Was a little concerned about getting things done yesterday at work, with a coworker off and a new case. But I got everything done that needed to be done and got out on time
Since I wasn't going out with J I had plenty of time to mostly finish the packing and get the car washed and fill the tank. Called the bicycle shop to cancel the reservation
Nearly made an error with the reservation. Went to my emails to check the check in time for the reservation...and found out I had forgotten that I had made hotel reservations back in January as well, for this weekend and next. I guess back then I reserved both weekends because I wasn't sure which weekend to go, and planned to cancel one later. Well I didn't cancel either one and made another reservation for this weekend last month. Next weekend's reservation I was able to cancel via a link in the email. The other reservation for this week I had to online chat with customer service to get it cancelled, as it was only a few hours before the deadline. Glad I saw that in time
Have made plans to meet up with one person in Madison this afternoon, working on meeting up with another. Other than that will probably do the usual stuff in Madison...visit some of the parks and the botanic gardens, see if there are any cranes, hit up a restaurant or two and some coffee shops. I try to do something different each time, and this time it was to rent a bike and take the trail north rather than south like last time, unfortunately the cold made this impractical. Not sure what other new thing I could do
Will be in the 40s today here and in Madison, may have a bit of rain/snow this morning and around noon
