Santa Fe College ASN 2012 Hopefuls :)

Published

Hey all!

Just wondering if anyone else is applying to Santa Fe's RN program? Im completing the prereqs right now, and will be applying next semester.

This will be my first attempt at getting into the program so I am not real hopeful but fingers crossed. I am planning on taking the entrance exam tomorrow. I have been reviewing the Kaplan test book but does anyone know exactly what is on it? Does the science section count or is it just the math and reading.

Thanks and good luck!

Congrats and good luck to everyone who has applied! I just took my 2nd Kaplan test and turned in my volunteer hours and CNA license copy. Now that everything is turned in I'm feeling kind of lost. For the past year I have put so much effort into getting as many points as possible. Now that there is nothing left to do to keep me busy, I am just a ball of nerves.

Sappa...I'm sure you have taken your kaplan by now, but if not, its just reading and math. Simple math, just make sure you know how to change fractions into decimals, and into percentages. Lots of questions on that. The Kaplan prep book is WAY harder than the actual test you take.

Now that we only have a little over a month until we find out, how is everyone feeling? Really just hoping for assurance that I'm not the only one freaking out.

You are definitely not the only one worried. Do you know what the time frame is for letters to go out?

Good luck all on your applications. Based upon posts from prior years, it sounds like mid-June is when the letters go out.

Yes I called and they are supposed to go out June 15th. I hope I get in the first time it seems as if more people get in the second time around and that is what worries me the most. Good luck everyone. Does anyone know how many they accepted last year?

I hear they were expecting over 400 to apply this year. It might not be accurate anymore but the advisment office told me they accept 120-140 students depending on the teaching staff. Every morning I wake up hoping somehow several days have gone by since I looked at the calendar last, but this month is just creeping by. I feel like June 15 can't get here fast enough.

Ok thank you asnhopeful2012 I just hope that my scores are high enough since I know my gpa is not the greatest.

I am so nervous about getting the letters!! Even though I don't think I'm getting in I can't help but thinking what if.... Does anyone know what the average number of points is for those that usually get accepted?

Good Luck!!

Its hard to say because last year it was based off of a scale of 108, not 99.

Wow did not know the points were based off that scale thanks. Also, does anyone know of someone being accepted with lower points?

From my understanding I think the low was the upper 60s range but that was on the old scale out of 108 (I think).

Oh ok that would make sense. Thank you mid-June is right around the corner.
