I checked my mail today and had a letter from them..I got in! I applied with 91 points.

My husband got accepted to both at Santa Ana and Rio Hondo. He is going to accept Santa Ana.

18th out of 20 on the alternate list with 73 points. Can anyone explain what exactly an alternate means? Am I considered for the application cycle or am I just possibly replacing students who turn down their acceptance?

As students who got accepted decline their spots, they'll go down the list of alternates to take those spots. Alternates will also take spots of the candidates who got accepted but don't complete certain requirements before the deadline (for example, submitting TEAS scores through ATI). Best of luck to you!
