San Joaquin Delta College ADN Spring 2017

Hey guys and gals. I noticed there wasn't a thread for people applying to the Delta Nursing program for Spring 2017, yet, so I thought I'd start one. This is a good place to talk to one another to post/share information about the application process and your experiences and/or questions. Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone! Congrats to all of you for getting in. I'm planning to apply for the Fall 2017 cohort. I was wondering what all of your points were going in? I have 85.5 points but I saw in earlier posts that someone had 80 points & ended up as #25 alternate or something, whereas people with 60-70 points were getting accepted... not quite sure how that happened, or if they were inaccurate at calculating their points?

PS: I'm an LVN & my first choice pick would be to get into one of the LVN-RN programs I'm applying to, but since I saw that my points were pretty good for Delta I decided I'm gonna give it a shot too :) I read on the website that there's an LVN-RN advanced placement option but that's only on a space/availability basis. Anyone know how they rank the LVNs? Waitlist or still based on points?

Thanks in advance!! :)

Yikes. Taking the TEAS was much harder than I thought it would be. The material itself wasn't bad but I ran out of time! I ended up getting a 50% on English and grammar with a 77.3 overall.

For those enrolled in Delta's ADN program, what's the total cost? Is there a certain amount due each semester? I submitted my supporting documents last week and also just applied for MJC's program and am curious how the two compare cost wise. Your response is much appreciated. Thanks in advance! Monica

Hi everyone, I just got into Fall 2017 cohort. I am currently looking to buy books for my first semester. We have Pieretti and Wells. I was wondering if you guys could help me, I really want to buy used books so I can save some money but I am worried that the teachers might want us to have the new codes to access it online. Did you guys ever need the new codes or anything for your first semester? Thanks!

I think we register with ATI for all our books.

The ATI books are seperate from the actual books we need for the program.

Hey Marie thanks for replying, I just called and asked and the ATI thing we purchased is different than the physical books we need. If you go onto the bookstore and enter in the two classes it will come up with the required textbooks we will need for class. On the phone they told me it doesn't matter if they are used too.

You can go to the sjdc bookstore online and search for the course materials for our specific course and teachers. It will show you all of the required materials to buy. Then i went online somewhere else to get them cheaper

I just did this and for nurse 001 and 002, it gave me only one book. That doesn't sound right. Anyone want to chime in and share what books we need?

You have to use NursAdn.
