Hey guys!
So I made this thread so that anyone applying to SJDC for spring semester 2016 can post with any questions, and fingers crossed, we all get in and can get to know each other a little bit :)
If you don't mind posting your scores, what are you points? I calculated mine and I am at 57 points, so i'm a little worried.
Does anyone know what the point cut offs were for the last couple semesters? And how low did they go down to after people either declined or accepted their spots?
HELLO EVERYONE! This thread would have been so helpful if I had known about it sooner! I kept telling myself, "Wow, wouldn't it be great if there was a chat room, or online platform, to discuss the application process at SJDC with other applicants?" My friend informed me about this thread, and I just had to sign up. I logged into the link on Monday to discover that, I too, have been offered a spot in the program for Spring 2016. As indicated on the platform, I guess we will get more information about the next series of hoops we must go through before we are "OFFICIALLY" in the program. I feel this is going to be a great time to help each other figure out many of the requirements for participation in the program.
I have been very proactive with visiting the Health Sciences Division office, and asking as many questions as possible. I was very concerned about how late in the year they "offer" spots in the program, and how much "stuff" must be accomplished in the short time from "acceptance" to "the start of Spring 2016." I have met with my M.D. and pretty much taken care of most of my vaccination updates, etc as well as other "medical preparations" for the ADN program. I am excited/apprehensive to see what other things are required of us BEFORE we start the semester.
I can't wait getting to know some of you via this thread!
I almost forgot to include my application information to answer the questions of one of the previous posters! I applied to the program with only 78.5 criterion application points, which made me very nervous because the points go all the way up to 100.

My friend and I have been very nervous because we have been gathering quite a range of "conflicting" cutt-off points for applications. It would have been so very helpful, if SJDC had published data in regard to average application points/ application point ranges of past applicants/ etc. We have found the SJDC Health Sciences Department very "secretive" about any data about past application periods. It was "like pulling teeth" just to get information about getting the "pre-program check list. The staff in the office WOULD NOT GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION! Every time I visited the office I was told, "You will have to wait until you are accepted into the program and receive your WELCOME packet!" The entire process had been so frustrating. Why so secretive? Why not give the info out?
Well, I need to cut this short! Chat with you all soon!
