San Jacinto College (South) LVN Program Spring 2022

Updated:   Published

Anyone applying to the Spring 2022 LVN program at San Jacinto College (Houston, Texas)? I haven't seen anyone post about it so I decided to make one. I just saw they extended the deadline until October 22.

My cohort started with 44 by the end of graduation we were down to ONLY 10 that alone let’s you know how hard it is. Level 3 was the most difficult for me due to the scheduling but it’s attainable.

The main cause for people failing was the dosage(Math) exams you take one before every clinical.

Oh wow. That’s so unfortunate. I’ve always been told that your life literally has to be school and everything else is later.

Hopefully I don’t have to take dosage because I’ve already taken it at another school this past Summer.

Good luck you all! I graduated last month from south campus ?? I wish every one of you the absolute best. I know exactly what its like.

I unfortunately didn't make it in the lvn program this time ? I got really discouraged that I didn't make into either programs, so would you mind giving advice on how to make into the program if you don't mind? Like what was your pre req scores, HESI scores, and GPA? I feel like maybe my HESI scores were too low since I barely passed the math portion because I thought studying all night the night before was a good idea ??‍♀️ LOL my GPA is a 3.3 and I got a B for A&P 1. Thank you! ?

Everyone of us has taken a dosage course. They give it in level 1(MedAdmin) Unfortunately, a dosage exam is still required before every clinical. They have to know we are competent enough to pass medications!

I applied to 5 LVN(Hcc, lonestar, San Jac, college of mainland, & Alvin) programs got accepted into all of them. My advice apply to every school that you possibly can. HESI; 90 A & B in anatomy 1 and 2. I don’t remember exactly what my GPA was. Just keep trying and don’t give up.

Hi I want to get into the LVN to RN bridge program at San Jacinto South. I have 3 pre-req's to go which is A&P1; A&P2 and Microbiology. Does anyone have any advice they could give to get in? What are the best teachers to take for the pre-requisites I listed above? Thank you ☺️

I'm looking to apply to the LVN to RN program too. If I find out anything, I'll let you know?.

I'm currently in my last semester at Alvin for my LVN-RN. It's honestly the best decision I've ever made. You get 4 try's for dosage. They truly care about their students & want us to succeed. They even round at the end of the semester San Jac would never do that LOL & the program is only 3 semesters. That alone sold me. All the other programs have 4 semesters.

Wow, rounding at the end of the semester?! That's awesome LOL you're right... San Jac would never. Was it easy to get in to program the first try at Alvin? Just curious.
