Hi, I am planning to apply for nursing at San Jacinto central Houston but I heard that on that campus it is really hard to get in, but if you do, it will be triple hard. I am wondering if it's really true.
Hi @IAmNurseMel I recently got accepted into the San Jac ADN program North Campus, so glad you are here! I have a couple of questions..Please are all the textbooks and access codes necessary that we have been asked to buy? I mean, i want to buy the textbooks by themselves without the access codes as that would save me a lot of money. Also how is the program in general? What do I need to study to prepare me for the classes? I just want to be as prepared as possible..So nervous and excited to start classes in 2weeks!

I actually did not purchase any of my textbooks; I rented them. However I did purchase the access codes because we had assignments and modules to complete. The program itself is not hard; it’s the lack of resources, disorganization, and inconsistency that makes it frustrating. You can start studying dosage calculations and reading your foundations book to start with. Congratulations and good; you’re going to need it!
@IAmNurseMel thank you! And thanks for replying. Do you have any idea where to get the access codes especially for the dosage calculation 360 and the fundamentals of nursing? Also, how often were your dosage calculation quizzes?

There’s an online access code inside the cover of some your books. Dosage cal exams are administered every term. You will also have dosage cal on every lecture exam.

Good afternoon Nurse Mel, I wanted to know what were your pre req grades, HESI score and rubric scores before getting accepted into the north campus?

Good afternoon Lilly, I had mostly B’s with one or two A’s and one C on my prereqs. I believe my HESI score was like 85 or 88; I can’t really remember. My rubric score was 18 so I ended up on the alternate list. They called me shortly after acceptance letters went out to tell me there was a spot available.
