This is my first time using this site. But I’m in the process of applying to the San Jacinto College ADN program.
my grades are:
English: B
AP1: A
AP2: B
Micro: B
Science GPA: 3.27
HESI: 91.2
I’ve been to one other college besides San Jac, so I don’t know my exact cumulative GPA, but it’s between 2.9-3.1
my current ruberic is a 21 not counting my GPA.
My real concern is if I should apply ASAP, or will I be ok waiting about a week for my CNA license to become current, and also, what are my chances of getting in? Thanks for any responses!
HESI- 91, GPA- 3.5, My overall score was a 22, but I believe it is scored differently now.
Nursing school is by far the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I've reached the point where "exhausted" dent even begin to describe how I feel. You learn pretty quickly to be a literal sponge and absorb anything and everything in the classroom, at clinical, and studying at home. Sometimes it feels impossible, but its doable if you want it bad enough. Prepare your family and loved ones! There are a lot of sleepless nights ahead!
If I could give you any advice, I would say to look at other schools and research diligently. The retention rate for San Jac is awful. We were cut in half after the second semester. Sometimes I feel like the professors are against us and its a sink or swim atmosphere. I think a lot of them are trying to prepare for the BSN program, which unfortunately puts students at a lower priority.

I’ve heard mixed reviews on difficulty and retention at SJC, but majority favor your view. I’m still debating working, I wondering if you work, or have insight on classmates of yours that worked through the program. Also, are classroom hours more in the morning? Or is every schedule different?

I worked in the beginning with a part time job, but personally it was too much. There are a few that still work and have kids but definitely not the majority. Hours range from 8-2 usually, but clinical is once a week with a full 12 hours. It just depends on your semester. Your first semester is 8-1 Monday-Friday

Good morning,
I wanted to know what you used to study for HESI ? Also was it the same stuff on the test that were used to study with?
Hello everyone, so I contacted the nursing department and they told me that sending unofficial transcripts from other universities with your applications is okay for now but you will need to get a physical SEALED copy once campuses start opening back up. I was wondering if the castlebranch has to be done before the application deadline as well? I have pretty much everything except my HESI scores (I’m taking it on the 20th) and my castlebranch with all of my shot records and everything done. Has anyone else still not submitted an application yet? I’m worried I won’t have everything and I’ll run out of time.

I would like to know what did you use to study for HESI? Also did you study everyday or once in a while ?
I used the red HESI practice book. I studied a little bit everyday and it helped a lot with the test. I think my final grade was a 91. I got a 100 on the anatomy portion
Does someone know if the deadline for the north campus is May 11th and for central is June 1st, is that right? And how long does it take for the committee to announce the results?
Let's share our scores ?
Engl B
A&P1 A
A&P 2 B
Micro B
HESI: 88
Overall GPA: 3.77
Total rubric score: 20
Is the north campus is easier than central?

Way to go! Those are amazing grades.
One more question, do they let you use calculators ? If so is it for certain questions or for the entires test on math portion ?
