Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program? Also, when applying will you be using option A, B or both? Lets talk about it here. :redbeathe
Hey everyone! Haven't been able to even check this site in forever as I have just started my critical care semester. I got some info from my clinical professor that they are only taking 80 students for fall because the previous classes were too large and they had problems placing students in clinical sites. Im not sure if thats including the transition students or just the basic generic ADN students. I don't know if that information is useful or just stresses you guys out even more but thought I would share.
The summer pharmacology class isn't offered to everyone as a pre-requisite because they have the Spring 2010 students taking it right now and the students from my semester that failed taking it. They usually only offer the hybrid course which is what I took to the students who are not already in. I can say that if you are not in the program already nursing pharmacology would be a bit tougher as you are not familiar with diagnostic and lab studies and the medical terminology yet. Hope this helps
To PharmLuv....
Wooow..now thats an eye opener! 80 students only? Great..!!! Now we can start wondering what to do next.
How are things going on with you?
Did you mean this pharmacology is offered by SanJac? So when do they offer the hybrid courses? How did you do on a hybrid program? Would you recommend taking a medical terminology class early? Just to make it easier.
Thanks for all the information. Keep it coming. Good Luck with your clinicals and other classes.
Yeah I was pretty shocked when I found out that they were only taking 80 students but then again my class was huge. We started with 120 and now we have 96. Yes San Jacinto offers Pharmacology but it is a nursing class. The hybrid wasn't that bad but I was already familiar with the terminology. They are starting to do the nursing program hybrid which is going to be interesting.
The hybrid class is going to be in the evening time so it would probably be great for people who do work or have small children. I also wouldn't want to do the program half online and half at campus. My instructor said that the people who start hybrid will graduate hybrid. They didnt say how many students applied but I will ask at clinical on Tuesday.
Thanks for keeping us updated PharmLUV! Really appreciate it. The 80 people thing makes me a bit nervous but it's good to get an idea of what my odds are.
As for the hybrid (I marked it as my 2nd choice), I'd take it if the choice was between that or not getting in at all. I think I'd be okay with either. Just hope I get into one of them!!
I am checking my e-mail every day. I know it wont be there for another week at least, probably three more weeks but I have to check otherwise I'll go crazy
@RENEE1982 - Congrats to you and Good Luck with the Program!!!
