Published

So I'm creating this post for all applicant to the San Jacinto nursing program for fall of 2014! I'm so excited to begin this journey after a lot of thought of whether i should do LVN or ADN and i have finally made my mind up. Good luck to you all! Do you mind sharing where you are in the process. Only been back in Houston for 2 months and have made my check list of what i need to complete before 05/01/14.:)

1. Hesi A2

2.Order Transcripts

3.Drug Screening

4.Background

5. Classes (Biol 2402, Biol 2420, Biol 2401)

6.Flu Shot saving for last

@ Prhollaway6965 did u receive two or just one blue card?? ... i received two one with my middle initial and other without

I just received the one.

To all I have been up to the school to see why I wasn't accepted and they have no reason as to why not. I'm sorry but I feel I got played and I'm going to say it I should of got in over some people cause I had higher scores then others! So there it is!

Good luck with that school I have a few friends in there right now and they all say that they don't have there stuff together. That it's a hot mess and they tell me I should be glad I didn't get in that I should try to apply elsewhere cause they are trying to go to get put into a different school. So like I said good luck!!

I don't think it's fair to bash the school and ruin the experience for everyone simply because you didn't get in. Let's be a little more mature here. I've heard great things about San Jac. from current students, and you ladies are an extremely lucky bunch. I'd be going there if it were a bit closer. You all should be proud of yourselves!

Rena, good luck to you as well.

Correction: *I'd

Ketsia_xo I agree with you. I just got into the program too and I know they took a while which was annoying but the school is not BAD. Every school has their good/not so good teachers but if your committed and you want it you well get it and nothing can STOP YOU.

@Rena32 I see that you got into the lvn program so be happy :) you have one to count on and then you can do the transition.

I wish you luck

You all will see! Like I said my friends are frustrated with the program. I can say whatever I didn't ask you guys to like what I have to say. Just giving a heads up but take it as you will. Plus I do know that my stuff was better I had a good rubric score on top of other things. But that's the schools loss not mine that's why there pass rate is so low. I didn't ask any of you guys to like what I have to say or feel. I know that I am not the only one that feels this way but I am the only that will say it so there!

If everything you know and have to say about the school is so negative why did you even bother applying there ? Everyone will have their own opinion about things some will think its great and some will think it stinks...but you really don't know until you experience it yourself or else you will just be living by hearsay.

It takes more than brains to be a true nurse. Having a positive attitude to take care of ill people is part of what makes a good nurse. I know you are frustrated and angry, but honestly you should reconsider if this is the right profession for you. There are more factors involved during the acceptance process. It is not only based on just a rubric score. Have you thought about the fact that maybe you didn't clear one of those.

Wow that's kinda harsh its like you want us to go through trouble or something. There is no use letting your anger out on us we didn't decide the acceptance and denial :( .... if you had soo many negative reviews why did you apply I think there were more options. There's a way of saying it without making others look like failures and bringing our expectations down. You can say all you want but say it where it's needed and that's not here.

I think every school has pluses and minuses. IN every program there are those that are very happy and there are always those who are dissatisfied. Every one is entitled to their opinion.

I know when my daughter was applying to schools we were disappointed by some of the denials. She ended up at what was initially her last choice...but ended up LOVING the school!

All of you work so hard to get in and it is such a disappointment to not get in.

Rena...((HUGS)) It is OK to be upset. Take a moment to be sad and angry...then get out there and so to the program you were accepted to...go to a bridge program and be the nurse you want to be.

It isn't about the obstacles in our way it's how we navigate around them that counts.
