San jac spring 2018 adn

Published

Hi i wanted to start this thread for those who are going into the Spring 2018 ADN Program at San Jac Central. I would like to know Hesi score, Gpa, and total number for ranking.

Hesi 80%

GPA 4.0

Total score 17

I am also an accepted alternate as well, I wonder as well, what are my chances?? This is my first time applying, and I dont know if I could go through with it all over again for Fall 2018. I am looking into changing my career path. I am so disappointed in the process of it all. The only school, I give kudos to is Alvin Community College, I was denied, the same day people received their acceptance letters.

Don't get discouraged. I have been on this journey for two years now. I have applied to 5 different schools and somehow, it never seemed to work out. I was either waitlisted, denied, or accepted but the school was too expensive and not the right fit. It all comes down to how bad you want to be a nurse. I had my moments where I wanted to give up, for sure. But I am so dead set and motivated to becoming a nurse no matter how many times I had to start over. There are other programs and more opportunities to get you there. Don't give up!

Thank-you for your kind words!

@daisyres Alvin but got denied! I tried to call and ask how many people they accept from waitlist and they said "idk". They can't even tell you what number you are, they don't handle that. I guess the department chair does. I tried looking through past forums too to see if someone had posted they were an alternate but nothing.

@jessang16 Oh wow, that is not the response I received. I didn't ask why I was denied, but I did send an e-mail to Karen, thanking them for their work. She said those who were accepted their gpa's were 3.7 or higher, HESI scores in the 90's. 189 applicants for 40 spots. My GPA was not the greatest, HESI 88, and I have completed all pre-reqs, even those like micro that are suggested.

To those that are on the alternate list, did you accept? If so are you going to wait until December 4th to find out if you made it in or not to do background check? How long does that take to do? And when does the semester start for the program?

haha I meant I called San Jac and that was the response I got. Did you receive your email for fast pass already?

No that I have not received. I haven't accepted the alternative acceptance yet, that's probably why. I received the e-mail on my way home from work. I guess I should go ahead and accept it, see what happens.

I would assume it all depends on how many people decline their acceptance

Don't give up because there will be several people declining their spot, therefore you might be the next one in line to take their place. Nursing school is very competitive and they can only accept 80-100 student in each semester at San Jacinto. If you don't get in this semester then keep applying each semester until you get in.

@daisyres have you already accepted? Did everyone already receive their identigo email for the fingerprints? I still haven't received it. Or is that something we do on our own?

I did mine last week. How long ago did you do yours? I'm nervous they won't come back in time. What do y'all think? How long did it take to get yalls back if you've gotten them back already?
