san jac adn program spring 2017

Published

Hello!

I have just applied and, I just wanted to know if anyone has also applied and what are your gpas and hesi scores? I am really nervous about not getting in. I am already using my fall semester to take extra classes for my gpa because I did not get into any BSN programs. Houston's BSN programs are really competitive so I understood why I could not get in but, I don't want to waste any more time. It really sucks when everyone is getting into programs while i'm just taking gpa boosters. My gpa is at a 2.8 and I got a 82 for my HESI score.

Thank you!

HCC also has their accreditation back conditionally starting Jan 2016. Hopefully that will pull away from some of the large applicant pool that was experienced last year too.

I hope so lol im at 18 sooo when i read they dont look at anyone below 20 my heart dropped. I am hoping that it wont be like that . Whats everyones rubic scores??? And today marks 30 days from the close of application period

Mine is lower mine is 17 .....I took the hesi 4 times and the last two times I got 84. A and Bs GPA 2.80 that's what bring's me down a lot. ..

Well hopefully this semester it wont be as many applicants since HCC is now accepting students too

Is anyone applying to multiple schools?

Nice! I don't have enough of my prereqs done to apply for a BSN program, but I applied at ACC in addition to San Jac.

I'm getting really nervous. As of 9/13 Alvin had over 250 applicants...and they take no more than 40 a session. I have no idea how many have applied to San Jac but they accept 80-90. I was confident in my scores, but now I'm thinking I may not get in. I would be devastated.

yea i saw that alvin is really competitive too, i know college of the mainland also has a nursing program but its way too far for me since i live closer to north campus. why are you no longer confident in your scores? do you mean like rubic scores or overall (gpa, hesi test results)

Mostly my rubric score, which really has to do with my overall GPA since I did well in all my prereqs and on my HESI. I like that Alvin didn't have a rubric, and only wants your prereq GPA, but the fact that I don't live in the tax district and have ever taken classes there may be a con.

San jac is used to be max 30 possible points but since algebra is no longer a requirement the max points is 27 so i think even 17 should be ok but who knows it depends on the overall competitive applicant pool. I was told they would look at everything and take everything in consideration. So fingers crossed. I did create a group on facebook if you want to join
