san jac adn program spring 2017

Published

Hello!

I have just applied and, I just wanted to know if anyone has also applied and what are your gpas and hesi scores? I am really nervous about not getting in. I am already using my fall semester to take extra classes for my gpa because I did not get into any BSN programs. Houston's BSN programs are really competitive so I understood why I could not get in but, I don't want to waste any more time. It really sucks when everyone is getting into programs while i'm just taking gpa boosters. My gpa is at a 2.8 and I got a 82 for my HESI score.

Thank you!

Don't expect anything soon November sound good .....like you said just stay busy try not to think about it....

I came here trying to see if anyone had heard anything. Guess we're all in the same boat!

Did anyone else use their personal email address on their application? I had a nightmare last night that I wasn't receiving notifications because that's what I used and they weren't allowed to contact me due to that FERPA law. :arghh: Now I'm freaking out! There were no specific instructions to use our school ones, so I didn't think anything of it when I jotted down the one I use most - my personal.

Don't worry I used my personal e mail . They don't really send notifications. There's this one e mail I have received all the times I applied in the past . It says to make sure your transcript is updated for example if you took classes in the summer take it so they can count those classes . And that's all they send. I haven't received that though.

I used my school email because i prefer all school communications there versus my personal email but they will send to the email on file on your application, but if you want to ease your mind im sure you can email them to change the email on file. But no notifications have been sent out yet that im aware of, the admission criteria handout said they will notify students of acceptance or denials 30 to 45 days after application period closure. But someone said they dont send anything out until November. Just keep checking emails and try to focus on other things lol i know easier said than done..

I ended up emailing the admin, she said personal email addresses were fine. I hope we hear something sooner than November, this is killing me already! Monday will be a month since the extended end date, but that would be a perfect world wouldn't it?! Haha.

Idk how that works there were people in the past forums i read that they got responses in October of last year but supposedly they started taking more applicants last year too and from what i gather the deadline was extended to November. so it might be different the denials from the people who commented were in December.... so hopefully its different for us :)

Yeah the lady told me that due to the hcc problem there was a lot of their applicant applied to San jac. There were a lot of overqualified applicants last semester. She told me that they weren't even looking at applications under 20 . I have a 17 my GPA is the one that is a little low it's 2.8 ...thanks to a past college I attended. So we will see hope this semester isn't as competitive. When I applied the first time they were taking 18's so that gives me a little hope.

if they are doing 18s thats great i had a 20 but because i repeated micro (summer 2012 i got a F due to non attendance because of my divorce and then i fractured my leg) but i retook it in the spring 2016 and got a A i think it was a 98 or 95 at the end of the semester. sooo that means i am at a 18

You were told this year or last they weren't accepting less than 20's on rubric?

HCC also has their accreditation back conditionally starting Jan 2016. Hopefully that will pull away from some of the large applicant pool that was experienced last year too.
