Hi! I wanted to start a new thread for all of the SFSU BSN nursing program students who will be starting in the Spring of 2012! I can't wait to meet all of you and congrats on all of our hard work, right?... WE MADE IT!
because EACH of the segment III classes requires a 10 page paper on top of other writing assignments the teacher gives. Usually these teachers like to assign 3 5 page papers or 2 3 page papers and 1 10 page paper, etc. In short, its a lot of writing, but if you like to write then go for it :).
I have a question for Current SF State BSN Nursing Students and any BSN students for spring that may have answers... Question about Living in SF vs East Bay.
I attended SF State in 2009 as a full time student, and commuted from the East Bay (Oakland). Most of the time it took me an hour and a half one way.
I had to get to BART, wait for BART
Take BART (40 min)
Then wait for the SFSU shuttle
Then walk to class.
And waiting for the shuttle to BART back home was often a very long line/wait.
It was hard, but I had pretty easy classes.
Now that I start the BSN program in Spring I want to know what you all think of your commuting experience. Do most of you live in SF or very close surrounding areas? I'm looking for a place for my husband and I but am finding it a bit difficult. We are willing to pay a little more because we will hopefully save money and time on commuting.
But I just figure, living in SF would be easier if I want to get tutoring, or meet classmates to study, or go home because I forgot something, or need a nap between classes, have an important test or have more time to study/sleep instead of commuting. Not to mention Clinicals that will be in SF. I wouldn't have to head out two hours earlier every time. I figure living in the East bay would just be another added stressor and hassle, that's two to three hours in commuting each day!
Do any of you live in the East bay still? I'd like to know what you all think on this subject.
Thanks
hi irockurban! congrats on your acceptance!
I am taking all 3 segment III as well. i'm taking the human sexuality cluster, so i'm enrolled in SXS400, BIO 330 and HUM 375.i could understand why some were going against taking all 3 GE's at once as i currently have 20 pgs due at the same time for two of my classes. At least when we are in the program we won't have to worry about anything else :)

does anybody know if we have to be part time or full time in Fall 2011 in order to be eligible for the nursing program in 2012???? ive met with a counselor and i really have nothing to take except my Segment III and he was really against taking all three at the same time....
