Hi! I wanted to start a new thread for all of the SFSU BSN nursing program students who will be starting in the Spring of 2012! I can't wait to meet all of you and congrats on all of our hard work, right?... WE MADE IT!
Hi all, can anyone spare some advice? I am interested in SF State as well, but I know it is SO competitive! If you guys don't mind sharing, what were your stats and other items included in your application package that you think helped make your application stronger?
Thank you all. :) And judging by the year this thread started, you all must be done. Congratulations as well!

Hi :). SF State is very competitive to get into. I actually wasn't accepted the first time I applied, but reapplied the next year and got in! So don't give up! My GPA wasn't the strongest (3.2), but I met all other supplemental criteria like foreign language proficiency, health care work experience, multicultural volunteer experience, etc. If you want to make yourself a very strong candidate, I suggest looking up what the current criteria is and trying to meet as much of it as you can. Since this program is merit based, the more "points" you have on the application the better.
I just finished the program and graduated with my BSN January 2014. It was definitely challenging, but rewarding as well. Good luck!

Congrats on getting accepted! I am sure there are a lot of people on the waitlist who are super jealous right now
I am taking all three of my Seg III's this semester too. It's not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I am taking "Women, Class & Culture", "Leisure in Contemporary Society", and "Environmental Health". I am really glad that I chose to get them out of the way. Now I can focus just on nursing classes from here on out!
I'll be seeing you in a couple of months!
