Hello, I'm applying to the ELM program at SFSU for Fall 2025. I was wondering if anyone could please share their experiences such as particular clubs, pathways, or specifics that make SFSU unique from other schools?
I'm having trouble finding information outside the general website, and they didn't have info sessions.
@valorantgamer this is just the date that you can enroll in classes. If you look at the mepn roadmap it'll tell you which classes to enroll in for your first semester.
thank u mjb!
I do have another question 😭 when switching my speciality, do I need to speak to a counselor regarding it? I know the response previously to me mentioned that I could do it after the first year so just wondering if it happens by itself (me selecting the classes) or having to change it through the admissions office,
I appreciate all the help everyone has given me
thank u guys seriously
Can someone clarify the requirements for applying because I found it somewhat confusing with what staff emailed me versus what is stated on their website. Just wanted to understand more about the application process.
- What makes up the 3.0 or above GPA? Is it only from the prerequisites or the last 60 units of all coursework?
- When you input you're grades for pre-req do they take the higher grade or average any retakes?
Appreciate any help.
Good luck to everyone who has
applied.

they require one of the three letter of recommendations to be by someone that has worked with you/you have worked for for those hours, besides that they did not have me provide any actual verification on my end

it is a 3.0 overall GPA for your last 60 credits, and you have to obtain atleast a c or better in your prerequisites,
from my end, I believe they took the better grade because my first initial grade for Microbiology was a W (dropped it) and retook it and got a B,
best of luck to you!

@marimocha my previous degree was public health with a minor in women's health issues. if you look at my community college transcript (where I took my prereqs after graduating) my GPA is a 3.3. Once I transferred schools I graduated with a 3.78. My science GPA was a 3.82. I've been working in women's reproductive clinical research for the past 4 years since graduating which had lots of patient contact as well.
