San Francisco State University MSN FNP Fall 2015 (SFSU, SF State)

Published

Hello all,

I just received an offer of acceptance into SFSU's RN to MSN FNP program in the Fall. Anyone in the same boat? I'm so excited.

Any current or past students of this program out there? What has your experience been like? Anything to watch out for? Strengths and weaknesses of this program?

Would love to hear from you.

Thanks!

Hi hijadecalifas!! I also received an informal admission and very excited too!! :)

Hi BrujitaRN :)

Yay, it's so great to meet a potential classmate. Congratulations!! Are you waiting on other schools too? SF State is my first choice. It's closest and cheapest :D

Congrats to you as well :)!! Yes, I'm still waiting on other schools here in Southern California and UCSF but leaning more towards SFSU, like you said, its less costly. How close are you to SFSU? :)

I'm about forty minutes away by car. I live in the East Bay. I might take BART to school, if it's feasible :)

Congrats you two! I've been looking into the SFSU program for the same reasons - cost and distance. I was wondering what your timeline to the RN-MSN program was? Did you graduate from the ADN program and work for a year or two then apply after gaining some experience or did you apply right after graduating from the ADN program? I know with SFSU, taking the GRE is mandatory. When did you take it?

I graduate from an ADN program next year and am debating over what to do... Apply for jobs and work for a year or two then continue education, or continue education right away, or continue education right away while starting a new job (assuming I'll get one). What are your thoughts and what brought you to the decision to do the ADN-MSN program. (Also, I have a BS in a non-nursing degree)
