I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with either school or has heard anything about their ADN programs? I currently am getting ready to start my training for CNA and know that I have to apply at certain times for programs but have never heard anything about either of these schools.

Unitek is proprietary, the other is a public school. Go for SFCC. Better education, better educational experience, for less money. The college credits that you will earn there can be transferred to a four year university when you want to further your education. Unitek credits not accepted anywhere. These are statements made based on the general difference between most proprietary schools versus most public schools. Good luck.
Thank you. I noticed your name and was wondering are you at csumb? My husband just graduated this past spring from there as a TAT major.

Agreed. SFCC has a much better reputation, is transferable, and is certainly less expensive. Stay away from anywhere like Unitek or other tech schools.

City College of San Francisco has had some significant problems with accreditation. Their NCLEX pass rates over the past 2 years have been in the 70's. That being said, as long as they are still accredited, their courses will still be transferable. Given a choice between the two, I would choose CCSF over Unitek as Unitek is more expensive and their pass rates have varied quite a bit over the past 5 years or so, not to mention that their coursework likely is NOT transferable to another college or university.

This shouldn't even be a question. Choose the nursing program at San Francisco City College. The tuition is dirt cheap if you are an in-state resident of CA.
