Hi I will be applying to Palomar and Mira Costa's spring 2017 cohort. At the information meeting they said average points for accepted students were around 86 and they only take 20 and 5 alternates.. I got an 84 on the TEAs (dang procrastination) but I think my points should be between 82-86ish depending on the "extra" points they award me... I was told October for both programs will be when we hear back..

How the heck did you get 82-86 points?
How the heck did you get 82-86 points?
Based off of Mira Costa's Point distribution ( Palomar gives me 2 pts less for my TEAs score)
15 points associate degree, allied health cert, and relevant work experience
30 points science GPA
11 points Fixed set GPA
3 points Life experience
2 points (possible partial foreign language points)
26 points TEAs score
= 85/87 points
Additional qurstion:
Which of the two programs would you guys prefer if you get offered a spot in both Mira Costa's and Palomar's program and why?
Your thread has been moved to the Nursing Schools / Colleges forum where the other school specific discussions are. We hope you will receive additional responses in this new location.
April,
Those are the only two I applied to as well.. So hoping to get into either... Do you have a preference between the two? I wish I had a little more info about them both regarding the program and their differences... Anyway from what I'm hearing points in the 80s range is a pretty good chance of getting in :)
Hello all -
I applied to CSU-SM AccBSN 30pts/52, then the following ADNS: Grossmont, Palomar, Miracosta with points ranging fro low to mid 80s. I also just submitted my application to WGU SoCal today they don't go by any type of point system it is more holistic i believe.
I already heard back I gained admission to CSU-SM, but still waiting on the ADN programs, and won't hear back from WGU until Thanksgiving time or so.
Best luck to all!!

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone was applying to any or all of the nursing schools (Grossmont, City, Palomar, MiraCosta, National, SDSU, Cal State) in the San Diego area. I'll be applying to ALL except two. Grossmont, MiraCosta, & Palomar have upcoming applications for Spring 2017, National's application is October, and City's is September-December. As far as I know they are all accepting TEAS V til January. Has anyone taken the TEAS? If you don't mind me asking what was your score? Does anyone know what the minimum points you have to get to be accepted? Anyways, I thought I would create a thread for students to show support, give words of encouragement, and general advice. I'll check back later and I look forward to hearing from you all and good luck!
