San Antonio College (SAC) Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey guys! Just throwing the bait out there for anyone who's planning on applying (lol next summer) to the SAC traditional spring 2018 program!

I'm a transfer from AustinCC and I took Anatomy the first time my first year of college (2016-2017 will be my third - diverted for a year to business) and got a C so now I'm going to be retaking it as A&P I this fall along with Chem I, PSYC 2314 and Ethics. Then in the spring all I'll have left for prereqs will be Micro and A&P II.

Can't wait to meet some of y'all :D

I believe if the classes are transferring they expire after 5 years. If they were taken at alamo colleges they should be ok. I called the nursing department and left a message. When I accessed the application if only gave me the option to apply for the LVN to RN program. I didnt see the generic AAS degree program.

I havent taken the TEAS yet. Should I take it before I apply?

I think you need to take the teas before you apply. It's one of the things they look at to rank you

You have to.

I really hope it's five because when I messaged my counselor, he had said 10 and I have an F from 10 years ago I'd really like to see gone lol.

Here are a couple of links that should help you. This one tells you when the application periods are open for the nursing program. It also tells you everything you need to do before you can apply. At a minimum, you must take all your science courses and the TEAS. They recommend you take the other prereq courses because it helps your score.

These two links give you the degree plan.

Oh ok! I have been looking at so many different things I cant remember what I saw.

I just called today and was told that acceptance letters would not be sent out until mid November which seems super late to me.

When I talked to them they told me between the last week of October or the first week of November

I got my acceptance today. I'll be declining though, so that will open up a spot!

Anyone else been accepted?

Hi future nurses!! I am a level two sac nursing student. If you have the pleasure of attending here it will make you a full rounded nurse. Yes it's hard and you will have to read but if you apply yourself and learn and do case studies you willl do great. The first few months is just finding your way and after you got a study schedule down you will start to see everything coming together. We do have professors that cane from baptist and UT Health and they have said that sac is just as accredited as UT. And Sac is doing the same as UT. Great apportununity and save $$$ if you go to sac. Plus wonderful professors.

Congratulations to everyone.
