Samuel Merritt University ELMSN Spring 2022

Published

Hi fellow applicants!

I know it's quite early since the deadline is July 1, 2021, but I thought I would get this forum started! I submitted mine early and I received an automated email this morning confirming that they received my application. I checked forums for the previous cohort and it seems like they did not send out interview invites until mid-September. Hopefully, this year will be a little quicker. Good luck to you all! ?

The group format interview was an interesting virtual collaboration. Be ready to listen and advocate for your unique perspective/voice within the group effort. Excited to hear back between 10/13-20 for the FNP cohort.

Thank you for your response!! That makes me extremely nervous yet so excited for the interview. Can't wait!

Hi friends~

I just had my interview yesterday and I wanted to give some general tips so I can still be fair to all the applicants!

  • It wasn't super technical, more of a group format which has already been mentioned.
  • Have a pen and paper and listen well!
  • Be calm, clear, and able to get your point across without interrupting. (We used the hand-raising function in the "reactions" part of zoom to avoid cutting each other off).
  • Also, there are some great interview tips on the SMU ELMSN website if you haven't seen those already ?

We are supposed to hear back  between 10/13-10/20, which seems so quick compared to past cohorts! Good luck everyone!

I haven't received my link yet for my interview. When did everyone received their link for their interview time?

I received my link the day before my interview. I would email admin asap if you haven't received it by then!

what do you guys think of the interview?

It was not as bad as I thought it would be. However, I felt like the time frame was just too short for the amount of individuals in my group.

@Meow how many people were in your group?

I thought the interview was alright. Just felt rushed and didn’t have a lot of input to say. They should have made the interview time longer

I overprepared.  I watched a ton of Youtube videos, wrote down answers to the top/most common questions asked during a nursing school interview, and I spent a lot of time refining my "tell me about yourself" introduction.  But none of that helped.  LOL.

Best of luck to everyone!
