This is a thread for applicants who applied to Samuel Merritt for the ELMSN program for Fall 2024.

"Hey! A few of you guys have been asking about the group interview and I promise it's not as bad as it sounds. But the faculty introduced themselves then they put is in a breakout room with another person or I think the most a group had was three people. We learned about one another for about 10 minutes then shared with the class about the other individual. After that they put us into a group of 5 and 4 since it was 9 applicants in the meeting. We had to work together to create a clinic and set up roles for that clinic. Each member had a specific role and had to share what they do for the clinic. And after that we were able to ask questions to a student currently in the FNP program. Came back and then were able to ask the panel more questions.
Good luck everyone!”
Hope this helps!
this is super helpful!! Thanks a ton 🙂
Hi everyone,
Asking everyone whether they were called for an interview in late March or April for the Samuel Merritt University ELMSN program. Submitted my application towards the end of the deadline but apart from a notification email in mid-February notifying me about the preliminary review of the application from the admission office, I have not heard from them. Getting really nervous and worried. Any one have insights or advice?

Are you referring to both FNP and CM? Which one did you apply for?
I too applied for FNP program for the Fall 2025 cohort. I haven't even got an email for an interview. Based on the forums I've came across, it seems like the interviews were given out in early March, so I doubt I will even get one. I'm pretty sure if you haven't heard anything about an interview by now, it's most likely a rejection. SUCKS. I figured I'd at least get as far as an interview.

Thanks for the reply. That's super depressing. So, I completely empathize with you. Would the admission office at least send a notification email that the candidates were not selected for an interview so that we can move on with our lives.

Hey love! Unfortunately it is a waiting game and it's anxiety inducing but the wait is worth it. I had my fair share of panic attacks after waiting to hear back (LOL). But just be patient and they will reach out or keep checking your portal to see if you got in. I didn't even get an official email at first, I checked my portal and it said I got in. I got the official email on April 10th. So y'all are almost there!
Same what were your stats? I feel like I wasn't competitive enough. I took anatomy and physiology 8 yrs ago, and micro 6 years ago. My overall GPA is like 3.3 and my prerequisite GPA is 3.7. I have a bachelors in Kinesiology. Never took a TEAS test. I didn't have a letter of recommendation from one health professional only teachers and a volunteer coordinator at a hospital. Plus, I wrote my essays in like 2 days and forgot check for grammar errors. Dang I sound unqualified to myself when I say it out loud LOL.

Did you also apply for CM or did you only do FNP? I'm honestly unsure what are considered good stats anymore.
