I wanted to start this discussion for all applicants of the ABSN Summer 2018 cohorts at Samuel Merritt University. Please feel free to share your thoughts so we can support each other!

I remember them being pretty responsive when I was waiting to hear and emailed. Makes sense that they would be doing April and May starts first and then get all the June starts out. Good luck!

Has anyone on the waitlist for Oakland cohort got accepted? I am number 6 and have not heard anything yet. To be honest, I am worried that I won't make it. =(

Congrats to everyone accepted! I never received any kind of email so I emailed Derric last night, he responded quickly and I got an email back this morning! I'm #5 on the waitlist--I applied to San Mateo June cohort. Does anyone know much about how many people off the waitlist get accepted? The threads from past years seem to say a number of students are accepted off the waitlist. Im trying not to get my hopes up though. Good luck to everyone!

@ccop I was wondering if Derric gave you an updated waitlist number! Were you originally wait listed at #5? I think one other from June mentioned they were waitlisted at #2 and received an acceptance letter.

I know someone that got in off the waitlist last year and they were in the 20s. Idk if they're doing the waitlist different this year! From my email it seemed they were only going up to 17.. my assumption is that there are 17 waitlisted individuals for each cohort and location. Good luck to you as well!!!

Last night i was on SMURF and noticed they have started to put the Summer 2018 course schedule up. I only looked at Oakland and they did not have any clinical times up yet but hopefully this is our schedule so we can start planning childcare, etc.... For San Mateo April start we registered for classes this past Monday! I have 3 kids under 5 so i def need to plan lol.

I am #5 as of yesterday. I'm not sure where I started because I never received an original email saying I was waitlisted, which I thought was a bit strange. I checked spam and everything! I reached out Monday evening because I hadn't heard anything about my application status and Derric got back to me Tuesday letting me know I'm currently #5.
