Nursing Students School Programs

Hello fellow applicants. It's been 3 weeks since the submission deadline and I'm getting nervous?. I don't think this cycles' group has been made so I assume no one has been invited to an interview yet. Best of luck to us all?

What are your stats if you'd like to share?

Did you receive an interview or any other followup communication?

How did they contact you (phone or email)?

hey all i got in the case management.

What was the interview like? I got a call today and was invited to interview and am wondering if it is anything like the FNP interview was.

I was called today and offered an interview for the CM program since I'm still on the waitlist for the FNP program. Does anyone know if theres a huge difference in programs? I want to specialize in infectious disease and Im not sure if it would be wise to take the CM route.

Not bad, It’s one on one so that is a big plus to make your case for why your interested in the program. My advice is relax go on with an open mind and treat it like a normal conversation. They will ask you the general questions, why nursing?why this program? What do you think you’ll do as a CM? Be honest only give what you know. For what you don’t know Deflect Deflect deflect I say !! Lol nah in jk ..you’ll be fine relax open up remember there is a writing assignment at the end. FYI it’s all about YOUR thoughts and opinions. ...... you might get grilled about grades just make your case.

Hi there,

I'm applying to the ELMSN FNP program at Samuel Merritt for summer 2020 and I was wondering if anyone knows if we are required to enter in our "achievements" and "experiences" individually into the NursingCas "supporting information" section. My understanding is that this information is only required on a program by program basis - I'm just not sure if Samuel Merritt requires it or not. I feel like this info is redundant since we have to upload our resume anyways. Let me know if you know the answer! Thanks in advance.

Hey!!

I believe that it was an option to complete that portion. In all honesty, I would complete those sections. Your resume is literally suppose to be a list of your jobs and duties. With the achievements and experiences section, you can talk more about yourself. Don’t short change yourself and regret it later. I’m sure other ppl that got in, DID complete that section. I know that I did. Good luck on everything, you got this!

Hi! I’m applying for Fall 2020 but couldn’t find a thread. Does anyone mind sharing their HESIA2 scores ?

You may have to start the thread for fall! I got a 98.4 on my HESI and was #1 on the waitlist (I have been accepted now).

Hello,

I applied for Fall 2020 and I was wondering if those that got into the ELMSN FNP for Spring 2020 can share what your volunteer or work experience was like? I've read on some forums that only people with extensive work experience in healthcare get in. Is that true?

Hello fellow Nurses, I submitted an application for Sam Merritt's FNP program back in November for the 2020 cohort and I just found out i got accepted! Good luck to you all

Hey there!

If anybody who got accepted into this Spring 2020 cohort is still out there, I was curious as to what the financial aid you might have received looks like. I know they will offer you loans, but did SMU kick down a tiny or good amount of scholarship money from their own funds to help you out?

You don't have to share exact numbers if you don't want to, but did you think it was "eh, okay, or excellent?" ?

Yes they kick back $10k a semester with grad plus loan. Fair amount of scholarships to keep an eye out for.

Yes I get about 35k per semester in total loans (I had no income for the years prior). They gave me $3700 in emergency funding which probably came from CARES Act funding. The scholarship deadline is tomorrow so fingers crossed I get some money from that as well.
