Hi all - wanted to start a discussion for the SMU ABSN (San Mateo) Fall 2016 applicants. Has anyone heard back from SMU regarding decisions? Fingers crossed!

Did you use the Facebook search tool and enter "SMU ABSN San Mateo: Nov '16-'17"?

I just tried it and it worked for me. The group has four members so far.

Just curious to see if anyone has NOT heard from Samuel Merritt by now? I have a friend that applied at the same time and he has not heard back yet.

I still haven't heard anything either. I emailed both admissions people in charge of San Mateo; one referred me to the other and that person is out of the office until this Monday.

Same with my friend.. He called but the counselor is out of town for the week. So I guess no answers till then. :(

A girl in one of my prereqs told me the San Mateo and Sacramento Fall programs are now showing July 1 application deadlines on Nursing CAS and she heard from friends in the current program there could be problems.

I did check Nursing CAS and she is correct!

I wonder what kind of problems?

I actually saw the July 1 deadline for the Fall 2016 cohort a while back, way before admission decisions were announced. I thought to myself that if I did not get into the program this time, I would apply again for the July 1 cycle for both Fall 16 and Spring 17. I wonder if it's an additional cohort and there will be 2 in the Fall?

It's for the supposed November San Mateo program, which had an original deadline of March 1, and then a deadline of April 1, and now has a deadline of July 1?!

You can see when you click on it to add it to your programs . . . at least that is how I saw it after she told me to check it!

Hmm yeah... When I go into NursingCAS, I can add the Fall 2016 cohort (July 1 deadline) but my original Fall 2016 application that was due 3/1 was still there as a different application. Sorry if I'm not explaining it as well.

So at this point, no one really knows if the July 1 deadline for Fall 16 in an extra cohort or if they're just extending the deadline for more applicants? So confusing.

You go into Nursing CAS and then do Add Program and bring up the Samuel Merritt ABSN programs. You will then see the programs and their locations and deadlines.

I haven't heard anything yet.

Well, I hope you hear good news from SMU soon. Have you thought about reaching out to admissions to see why you haven't heard back from them? From past SMU ABSN threads, I felt like everyone found out about being accepted/waitlisted/rejected near the same time. I know Jr nurse says he hasn't heard and my friend (who's not on allnurses) hasn't either.

Also, you mentioned some current SMU students said there could be problems. Do you know what kind of problems they were talking about?
