U.S.A. California

I'm not usually the type to forage through online forums, but what can I say - grad school apps are stressing me out! This should get the ball rolling...

Do you think people should have received rejections by now as well?

Thanks alyssag24. If you have any questions feel free to ask away. I've never applied to Samuel Merritt so I don't know what to expect or how the process works, but I'll try my best to help anyone out that I can.

I have no idea dpk1004. I applied to the FNP track so I'm not sure. I've never applied to Samuel Merritt so I have no idea about the process. I received an email confirming the interview, but I haven't received anything else from them since they received my app back in November. I hear they interview in waves so they may be still calling people. I heard there were maybe 40 interviewees, but I'm not 100% sure about that and the website says they accept 25 per class.

Hey lilfoot, congrats again. I was just wondering if you would share your stats, like gpa, prerequisite gpa, teas score, and any volunteer hours. I truly hope they interview in waves because Samuel Merritt is my first choice and I really want to be accepted into the FNP Program!!! Now hearing that they have made calls and emails for interviews, it scares me to think that I may not get one.

Hi alyssag24! I haven't heard anything yet either--I also applied to the FNP track. I'm scared I won't get one either, but I'll be putting positive vibes out there for all of us that are still waiting. :inlove:

Hi Alyssag24,

My science gpa was 3.0. My gpa for the other program pre-reqs was about a 3.57. Now, my gpa for the last 60 semester or 90 quarter units I'm unsure of because after I graduated with my BS I went back to tackle the pre-reqs so I have quarter units and semester units all mixed in so I have NO clue what it is or what they calculated it as. I do know that it wasn't great because I dealt with the death of a parent and having to work 2 jobs to support my younger siblings and having to withdraw for a couple of quarters so there are C-'s and even a couple of D's mixed in there so I'm not exactly sure what they calculated. I can tell you that I'm surprised, thankful and extremely humbled that I got an interview because of the fact that my last 90 quarter units were so rough, but my essay explains all of that turmoil that I experienced.

My teas score was only an 80. I didn't do so hot on the math or science, but they were above the program and national averages. My english and comprehension scores were 95 and 98 I think so that's what saved my score from being completely in the toilet lol.

I volunteer 8-10 hours per week and I've work as a phlebotomist/clinical lab tech for the past 8 years. I'm not exactly sure what they're looking for, but I've gotten 7 rejection letters throughout this whole process so don't get discouraged if you're not offered an interview this time ok? I know it's easier said than done, but take it from someone who's been applying to graduate/nursing schools since 2005. It will happen for you and hopefully soon.

wow lilfoot293, you are quite similar to me as well! I didn't do so hot during my college days and I have no idea what my final GPA is. I'm keeping my fingers crossed to get a call and be humbled like you! If it doesn't happen, then onto the next round of apps I guess. =)

Keep strong everyone! We'll get through this anxiety somehow lol.

Yes dpk1004, those years were super rough lol I've had lots of sleepless nights and instantly get the bubble guts thinking about this interview next weekend, but I can't do anything other than be me so that's what I plan on doing. Good luck to you again!

Don't worry about it guys. The invitations for interviews come in waves depending which day they want to interview you. There is still a long way for all the interview invitations to come. I am in the FNP program at SMU, so i know how much pressure you feel now. Just hang on and sit tie, hope for the best. Good luck everyone.

Thanks for the encouragement. The anxiety has definitely kicked now knowing they are beginning to contact individuals for interviews but we will all know soon enough! Congratulations everyone who has received an interview and good luck! To those of us still waiting I am wishing us all patience and positive vibes!

Did anyone else get an email today saying that they are still reviewing applications and that they are still accepting applications for the CM tract? If I was interested to send an email indicating that interest and also to write another personal essay??!??
