Hi Everyone, I haven't seen this thread yet and as the application date (July 1) looms closer I thought I would start one. I am interested to know who is applying, what your undergraduate degree of study was and why you are now going into nursing? I'm taking the TEAS tomorrow!!!

So I will answer my own questions; My name is Darcy, my Bachelor's degree is in gerontology. My plan is to work with the elderly, hopefully in hospice. FNP is the next logical step for me.

This is actually a thread for SMU ELMSN-FNP Spring 2013 (NOT Fall), correct? Yesterday I too received an invitation to interview with SMU on Sept. 8.

Congrats to you too ProphetessCCC! Does anybody know how long interviews are going to go on for? Are interviews only going to be in the month of September? And what if the day they scheduled you conflicts; will you be able to reschedule it?

Last year, when I interviewed, they were able to accomodate people who needed to reschedule. But there are only so many days to choose from since these are group interviews... I think they do about 6 groups of 15 or so

I literally JUST received an email saying I have an interview for the CM program on Sept. 11th... OMG... It's not an acceptance but I feel one step closer to my dreams. :) I am ecstatic!!!!

I have a question though... (and I hope this doesn't come out wrong) but does everyone who submitted an application and has all the prereqs, letter of rec, goal statements, etc. done receives an interview?

Hi, dooodaadew. I don't think that all applications who meet their application requirement will be invited to interviews. I believe they have a lot of applicants for very limited spots, so they only invite people who they think will best fit their program. According to previous posts from past two years, if you are not invited to interview, your application is not going to move forward. You may want to contact them after application cycle end to have feedback what you can do to become a more competitive candidate. Hope this answer will help you.
