Hi everyone!

I haven't seen anyone post about SMU's BSN program for Spring 2022 in Oakland. Is anyone applying? This is my first time applying and July 1st is coming up quick!

Yep, looks a typical 10-panel drug test that most nursing programs do.

Appreciate it. ?

Hello Everyone,

I have already accepted my offer and payed the 350 dollers I also got a confirmation that I payed. When I click on letter of intent (link) on the congratulation email it still is telling me to accept or decline and pay. I have already accepted the offer and payed. Can anyone try clicking on the letter of intent link on the email we received and see if its still telling you guys to accept or decline. I have already done so but I don't know why im still seeing it. Maybe if someone can click it and see if its still showing up and let me know plz!!

Thank you

For me, it took over a day to update. You might just need to wait until tomorrow until they update the information.

Yeah you have to wait a day. I forgot where I saw it but it states to wait one day.

Anyone know if we have to call or email for getting financial aid?  Or will someone from the school will reach to us? I haven’t attended any if the financial aid meetings because I wasn’t sure if I would get in so I don’t know what they mentioned there.

We were talking about it on our FB group.
I think we’re waiting for an email from financial aid department to meet and talk about loans but if you haven’t already apply for FAFSA and make sure you add SMU for the school selection.

Anyone who was a second time applicant here? I was just curious if you all got accepted on your second try. My application was not accepted this time and so I’ll reapply for the Fall 2022 cohort- that application is due in less than a month! Just wondering if any of you who applied twice got in the second time or didn’t and if you have any insight or experiences to share.

I’m not a second time for SMU but second time applicant for Dominican and other private colleges. I got accepted to Spring 2022 cohort. I know what it feels because the initial rejection sucks and I cried A LOT. ?

Second time around, I started to volunteer at Sutter in San Mateo as wheelchair/transportation. If you’re not already volunteering and looking for somewhere to volunteer, let me know! I can send you a link!

If you didn’t score so hot on the TEAS, I’d take it again! Also, I took additional classes like medical terminology and get your American Heart Association BLS certificate. (You’ll need your BLS certificate eventually to get into nursing school —junior college offered it for cheap)

The rejection starts to hurt less second time around and it’s not a matter of if you’ll get in. It’s just a matter of time. My boyfriend told me this advice because it took him 3 application rounds because state schools kept waitlisting him. He’s a nurse practitioner now and getting his DNP. He just kept telling himself he’ll get in eventually just a matter of time!

Write a bomb personal statement and response to all parts of the question. It helps when someone proofs read your personal statement. If it makes sense and answers all parts of the question; then the person from admission will understand too.

I think high school seniors will be applying during your Fall 2022 cohort. So make sure to try to stand out and talk about the hardships you faced.

Anyone else from the waitlist hear anything?
