I actually did for the next cycle. I was frustrated that my TEA's reading score isn't good I am thinking to retake again.

Good luck! Oakland is the most competitive campus and SMU’s admissions process seems to be unpredictable, so maybe taking the TEA’s again will help your chances.

Hi! Do most people take the HESI over the TEAS? I heard they don’t have a preference, but HESI seems more common.

I took the TEAS! Most other schools I applied to required the TEAS

Hi! Just curious, where did you guys take your pathophysio prereq? Was it mostly online since only certain colleges offer it?

I took mine at Santa Barbara City College and it was 100% online.

If there is any one that was admitted in the Summer 2021 program still checking this thread… Do you guys have any insight on admissions? The Fall 2021 group is still waiting to hear back from SMU. The last 2 years, in 2019 & 2020, they were notified by June 17th if they got in. It’s been a week since that date. Just curious if you guys know anything.

Not sure if you saw the email from SMU but they sent an update out a week ago saying we will hear back end of June, early July. So hopefully we will hear soon! :)

Hey there, 

For Summer 2021 there were April and June admissions.  The April group found out in early-mid March.  The June group found out mid-late April I believe.  I was in the June group and recall SMU emailing a few times letting us know it would be later than originally expected.  Hang tight, hopefully you will find out soon.

For those who had to complete their science prerequisites, did you opt 100% online classes or hybrid mode? While SMU says they are accepting 100% online labs due to Covid-19, I am a bit concerned that the applicants with online labs *may* be not considered as competitive as those who took the hybrid option. I plan to apply in 2022. Would greatly appreciate your reply.

It doesn’t matter if you took them online or not. They don’t count that against your admission. Lot of labs are taken online and students still get admitted .
