Hi All,

I didn't see a thread for the Samuel Merritt ABSN summer 2020 cohort and just wanted to start one, as I know most of us are in the process of applying right now. I applied to the Sacramento campus, but am currently waitlisted. I just wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations on how to be more competitive aside from GPA (as I am going to retake some courses to up my GPAs). I love that Samuel Merritt looks at applicants holistically. Please share the wisdom , whether you are applying or you are already in the program. Thank you and have a blessed day !

The reason I'm asking about the waitlist is I found out last week that Samuel Merritt messed up my application, so they are resubmitting it for review. I was trying to get an idea of how many people were still trying to get in.

Afternoon everyone !

So it has been a minute. For those who were accepted for April SFP , have you all heard anything in regards to school? Whether it would be on campus or online ? I was accepted about 3 days ago and I am getting a flood of emails to get all my post admission things done, but I haven't received any communication in regards to class. Also, did anyone attend orientation? I only did the online orientation (it said there was supposed to be a physical orientation as well, so I don't know if there is another orientation that I missed?). I thought I would ask here first before emailing the school (since they have had a crazy influx of emails). Thank you !

Hi Chong! We got an email last night saying that they are considering delaying our start date or keeping it as is. They’re giving everyone the option of deferring to a later cohort as well. They said they’d have an answer by next Friday April 3rd on whether or not we’d start on time. PM me your email and I’ll forward the email to you.

Is there an April ABSN San Mateo FB group? A link would be awesome! I just got the email explaining how the April Cohort might be postponed and am very sad. Crossing my fingers that we will still be able to start on time. I've already made plans with my work to wind down until the start of the semester. Would love to connect with my fellow April San Mateo ABSN classmates!

I saw one for the Oakland Summer cohort but not April. I'll make one and link it here LOL!

Hi all,

Has anyone heard about delaying the start of the June SFP ABSN program? Or, if we’ll be doing mostly online classes for the beginning? I need to give notice at work but I have a feeling that the June start will be delayed.....

I'm in the June cohort for San Mateo, too. I have the same concerns.

I'm in the Oakland ABSN May/June start. I haven't heard the scoop yet either. I bet they're figuring it out and will let us know soon.
