Hi All,

I didn't see a thread for the Samuel Merritt ABSN summer 2020 cohort and just wanted to start one, as I know most of us are in the process of applying right now. I applied to the Sacramento campus, but am currently waitlisted. I just wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations on how to be more competitive aside from GPA (as I am going to retake some courses to up my GPAs). I love that Samuel Merritt looks at applicants holistically. Please share the wisdom , whether you are applying or you are already in the program. Thank you and have a blessed day !

Does anyone application still says “Application under review” for Oakland Cohort? I don’t want to call Anne If they’re still not quite finish with the whole process or acceptance, waitlist, or denial.

Yes, even tho I received a call from Ann to let me know of my acceptance, my status still says “under review “. I still haven’t received an email , so I’m kinda getting nervous...

Hi all,

dont be discouraged about the lack of communication/not getting in! Current SMU student here.... COVID-19 has affected everyone's clinical hours. Students might not be graduating on time and other semesters pushed back because we cannot go into the hospitals at this time with no news on when we are able to go back.. That is prob why they took so long to let you know and also think not as many ppl were admitted from what I heard. So keep trying for those waitlisted/rejected! Sending good vibes & stay safe everyone!

No but the website (if you click the covid related banner at the top and look at the answers to the questions) does say Summer sessions are planning to start on time. There’s still time for that to change however. I assume it will be online instruction for the first class (6 weeks) and then hopefully things will be better by then. TBD. I wish they would communicate with us about the start date tho - I need to know if I should quit my job or wait haha

Hey, I was accepted into the June SM 2020 cohort, but I'm not sure about the waitlist. Have you contacted the admissions counselor at that campus? He usually responds to emails pretty quickly and can give you that info.
