So, the applications are due today (September 1st) for summer admission to ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. How does everyone feel about their application?? What campus did you apply to?

Dude. When I was waitlisted in 2010 I was #100+. You guys are money!!! If you don't get in this one, You'll start in just a matter of months in the fall. Congrats all!!!!

just curious, is that waitlist number for each cohort...or an aggregate wait list? cuz if its aggregate, the numbers aren't too daunting.

CaptainButtWipe - In the e-mail I got, it stated that I was 29 out of 55. So there is no 100+ this time for some reason =\

Pnlu007 - I have no idea if it is for the specific cohort or an aggregate list. I'm hoping so badly that it is an aggregate list because I am willing to go to any campus, I just want to get in.

To me, it sounds like seems like it is a wait list for that specific location. As if each campus has their own. But I would love to know how whether that is true or not. I too am willing to go to any campus.

Letters of intent are due soon. After that we will how many people formally accept. I am sure some will choose other schools that are not as expensive.

If I wasn't on this thread, I would think that I didn't get in (remember, we found out really late and not to mention the Feb 10th incident). Im sure some also committed to going to other options so they could at least plan. THe fact that it took so long for results to come back is actually to our advantage. If I had applied anywhere else and had some other comparable options, I might have chosen a different school just so I could have something set sooner.

It is a pretty big wait list compared to the number of spots available 55 spots on wait list / 44 spots at each campus. That makes me think that they end using needing quite a few people from the list.

If the e-mail doesn't specify a particular campus then it has to be an aggregate list, right?I think maybe SMU see it pointless to have a 100+ waitlist. No wonder that counselor told me that sometimes they exauhst the entire list for certain cohorts. 55 is workable and gives you a great chance to get in in the summer or fall.

unfortunately, the email DOES specify the campus. See below:

Although numbers may shift a bit as we finalize the process, at this time we are happy to offer you a place on the wait list for the ABSN summer 2012 class/Oakland. You are currently number 25 of 55 on that list.

Also, yes, I already know that I am crazy... BUT I looked at the Summer 2011 and there was only one person who discussed being on the waitlist. She was number 23 on the Oakland waitlist and ended up getting into the San Mateo campus on March 22nd. Just an FYI that there MAY still be hope for some of us...

Also, saw from the summer 2010 that a person that was 45 on the waitlist got in, but not their first choice.

keep the faith, you never know what can happen. I applied to two other programs, that I thought I had a lesser chance to get into, and may choose those if they work out for me. You never know, because $58K is a ton of money.
